    Really awful service. I was behind a young lady in the queue and observed the young man behind the counter treat her disgustingly. She handled it so well. I hope this man gets help- he clearly has an issue with women. And pets at home need to do better at training their staff.

    WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER! Me and my partner went into pets at home, searching for a hamster, we found one straight away as he came up to the window and started licking the window which we found cute. So we approached a lady in order to help us purchase this hamster. She informed us we need a habitat 3 cage which is unnecessary for a dwarf hamster, and wouldn’t allow us to buy a habitat 1 cage even though it said on the packaging that it’s ideal for 1 dwarf hamster. She refused to let us have the hamster unless we bought the habitat 3 cage, so we had to buy it but we later returned the massive cage and swapped it for a habitat 1 cage at another pets at home ( they was so much friendlier ) This lady also gave us the impression she wanted the hamster, she said she had a few hamsters at home and was going to take him out back so she could take him home! She refused to sell us a wheel and a ball which she deemed to be too small but pets at home recommend them for dwarf hamsters, she was forcing us to buy other things and which felt like a dictatorship despite us having owned many hamsters before!! I picked up the leaflet about information regarding dwarf hamsters and she immediately said all that information is out of date and basically said pets at home was wrong. I am 80% sure she was trying to be awkward as she could, in order for us not to buy our baby Timmy, I am an idiot for not getting her name unfortunately, otherwise i would have reported her. Stay clear from this pets at home , I’ve since been in 3 other pets at home and have received better treatment

    I have had an awful experience here with the grooming. Initially my dog was being groomed by a lovely girl called Kayleigh who has sadly left. We then proceeded to take my puppy to his puppy groom where Kirsty and Kacie have decided to shave his chest and not make us aware when we arrived to collect him, we arrived 5 minutes early to the end of his appointment which is only 45 minutes long, he has never been finished early but we saw that he was not standing on the table being finished or having his collar clipped back on which he usually is. After entering the grooming salon I could hear a puppy crying I asked Kacie is that him and she replied “probably” she didn’t rush to get him for us and we continued to make comments such as “he doesn’t like being on his own, he is never left alone usually he’s not used to it” and she proceeded to look on her computer and ignore what I was saying all she wanted to do was get him booked in for his first full groom and extort more money out of us. After getting him home from a walk and taking off his collar and coat I noticed that he was bald on his chest from his collar bone to the bottom of his ribs. He is a long haired Shihpoo and it is blatant that he has been purposefully shaved. We would not have a problem with this if he had mats but at the handover when collecting him we was told nothing as Kacie was the girl “handing over” when Kirsty is the one who groomed him which I found odd. I also asked how he has been at handover and the young girl said “from what I saw looking over he was alright”, she was not informative, very rude and very blunt as if she just wanted to book us in for his next groom and go. They had also not stated on his contract of grooming form that no areas had been shaved and nothing had been shaded in on the diagram to say he had been shaved and to top it off they had filled in the form for us already and circled “consent to clipping: no”… after coming home and seeing the bald patch we instantly tried to call but no one was there as this was after 6pm and they were now shut for the weekend so on Monday a complaint was made by my partner and Zoe (the manager) initially sounded very upset by our complaint and had some compassion about what had happened. My partner was then told he would get a call back the following day which didn’t happen when he called back another member of staff answered who we knew and told the story to, to which they were mortified also and told him that the manager had left for the day and she will call us back the following day (Wednesday) we had still heard nothing and after myself having to call up and raise the concern again at 9am on Thursday morning I was laughing at by the manager Zoe and told “I don’t know what you want me to do I can’t glue his hair back on, we’re just going around in circles here” whilst laughing down the phone. I expressed how disgusted I am and how they have lost a customer due to her response to our complaint. All we wanted was some acknowledgment to the wrong doing and an apology but we were pushed to one side and laughed at. Do not take your puppy to the groomer salon at pets at home Pipps hill the girls are unprofessional and rude. And the manager doesn’t care what they do to your dog/puppy.

    Id like to thank Michelle, the groomer at Pipps Hill, she has groomed my dog from a pup to his golden years, now he has no sight or hearing, she still has great patience with him and me! she has always listened to my concerns and from a matted dog, comes out looking as good for crufts. She is a fantastic at her job, I would recommend her to anyone. thankyou again Michelle Sue Walker and Cloudy

    Staff are very helpful and friendly when the store isn't ram-packed full of people. Some members of staff have shown that they're willing to go the extra mile which is lovely, but I think the team could do more to ensure queues aren't very long at busy times.
