I have mixed feelings. Somebody from them got in touch with me very quickly after a GP recommendation to contact them but after the assessment she didn't agree to provide me with an NHS counsellor stating something like - sorry, but your problem is not big enough for a counsellor.

Bad experience with an employment advisor who spoke to me like I was sitting on my arse doing nothing. She basically told me everything I knew and was doing. Waste of time tbh. Iβm sure Iβll find a job through my own hard work very soon. Lack of empathy as well, which is not good if youβre dealing with someone going through therapy. Talking all over me and not listening, and then telling me I need to listen more. What a joke. I had suicidal thoughts after this phone call, which I havenβt had for a long time. Useless service. The reviews say it all.

Awful experiences, my gp reffered me a few times, cbt has awful therapists that only read from a script, then to have other rude therapists that clearly do not care, please kindly leave if you do not care for all of us that are suffering. Then I get reffered to councilling, to be told it'll make me worse, they make up any excuses so they do not have to see you, to get there numbers down, to tick the right boxes to say they've seen more patients than they have, now to be referred to see a psychiatrist, only for them to prescribe drugs that I have had previously bad reactions to, and they only see you once, and that's a phone call, then to have a follow up 6 - 9 months later, what a joke. If your mental health problems is very mild then they'll be very happy to see you, but if it's mild to moderate to severe then I'd be prepared for them sending you to a psychiatrist to dose you up on who knows what.

Absolutely joke rang the service for help was told by four different professionals ie doctors nhs physiatrist nurse, counsellor and crisis team that Iapt was the service for me to use due to my severe anxiety and panic attacks and severe depression but when I called they told me that they wouldnβt help me at all, because I did NOT FIT THERE CRITERIA FOR SERVICES, because of them it made me suicidal and my mental health was worse and I declined to the point that I was so ill through there bad treatment and lack of help, that they nearly drove me to suicide. There supposed to be there to help & support you but they made matters worse, itβs the worst experience Iβve ever had in my life and they should be ashamed and closed down for their disgusting behaviour.

Still waiting to be discharged from my non treatment, 3 months waiting to be seen, no option for face to face, telephone only, had to commit to the same appointment every week, I'm afraid this is not always possible, therfore I cancelled to be told I need to be discharged by a counselor and 2 months on still waiting. Meanwhile the problem is not going away. Dreadful service for the most vulnerable.

Had an assessment today over the phone. No help really. Six month waiting list for therapy. You will get more help from reading a self help book.

Very professional and friendly service. However, it is clear the scope of their services -- and detailed, individualised support -- is limited. They are constrained by their funding; the Tories are determined to starve the NHS and councils, so this is no surprise. If you've never encountered self-help mental health strategies before, I imagine the service is more helpful than I found it. I will be moving onto one-on-one counselling, which is fortunately offered through my employer.

Hi. I had couple counselling with Carol Muir (a self preclaimed narcassist, which wasnt helpful at all) She failed to notice my detachment disorder, judged me and told me my concerns were irrelevant. This made me alot worse and at the end she even said im not very well and told me i should talk to somebody. Lol cos that is why i went there in the first place. If you care about your mental health dont go there because they dont.

Literally the worse service I have ever come across. Called up to explain that I was feeling anxious and severely down and drinking to much to self medicate. They said they can't help until i stop drinking and come back when I have. No wonder so many young lads are dying as a result of depression if this is the people that are supposed to help when you do finally work up the courage to talk.

Feel let down by Iapt service. Work full time trying to get an appointment is a night mare. Waiting list for 6 months. Book you an appointment without asking when you are working had to cancel this . Ring up an only get the answer phone. Beg them to ring you back. Still waiting for Ipt service to ring to make another appointment.
