I just want to say how glad I am that I am registered with Penarth Healthcare Parnership. I’ve had nothing but exemplary service from them since having to transfer from Albert Road surgery when it closed a few years ago. In recent weeks I have had some major health problems and have received excellent advice and care from the GP’s and ANP that I have seen as well as the contact with the administration team who are always friendly and professional. Thank you so much.

This is the worst GP I've been part of in the UK! I've been dealing with extreme pain on my back which makes it impossible to work (I suffer of scoliosis and sciatica), I call every day at 8am and by the time I get someone to talk to me they say that there are no appointments available and then I need to call back the next day. I've been calling at 8am every day for 2 weeks with no results and they just don't care at all. My national insurance contributions go straight to the drain because of places like this, where you can't even get an appointment and a decent treatment. In my time here, they haven't even given me a new patient appointment, and it seems like they don't even care...

The female Receptionist in the front desk behaviour is always been rude. Whenever i had to go through her she likes to humiliate people. I had another rude encounter with this receptionist as they have not released repeat prescription for my other half to Tesco Pharmacy for 2 months now. Just wanted to ask what is causing the delay as he is without his medication and just wanted to remind them. Instead she repeatedly argued she cannot discuss the medication. There is no politeness. She wouldn't listen to you or allow you to speak. This person is not fit to sit in the front desk as she is spoiling the reputation of the surgery and causing harm to peoples lives.

Call handler was extremely rude and unhelpful this morning. The advice I was given was not in line with the advice given by 111 and out of hours. This call handler was clearly not suitable for the role. It’s now 1pm and I am still waiting for an appointment. I will be writing to the practice manager to address this.

Today is Monday 30th December 2024. After numerous phone calls, I finally got through and told I was no.48 in the queue. When my turn arrived, I was told the appointments today were for emergencies only. That’s all very well, but I did not know that, and I had been in the queue for an hour, waiting for my turn to arrive. Surely there should have been a message added to their automated message at the beginning of each call, to let patients know that today was for emergencies only? It is hardly fair to withhold information such as this from patients. There was not even a mention of it on their website. I waited an hour for absolutely nothing. At least it cost me nothing for the call. But I would guess it cannot be the same for everyone. Re. their callback system: I refuse to use it. Twice I have done that, and twice I never received the call back. Whilst nearly all of the GPs are really good and make me feel at ease, the same cannot be said of their appointments management system. It needs to be improved to take into account times such as β€œfor emergencies only”.

This surgery has always been incredibly accommodating to me. I see your reviews regarding calling at 8am which I have to say is a bit of a ball ache but if you have a serious issue which requires immediate help on the day and you aren't offered an appointment via the 8am call I find expressing your concerns to the receptionist is always taken on board and looked at by a GP on the day. Dr Froom and Dr Griffin are exceptional doctor's within this surgery and have provided me with fantastic NHS care above and beyond their protocol.

Had the same experience with one of the receptionists very rude and unhelpful the others were great. The doctors there fixate on one diagnosis and don’t investigate other things you have to fight to be heard, even when your proved correct in things you have asked them to test and refuse for months on end! Very uncaring and not interested attitude fob you off with their magic drug anti depressants every chance they get! Absolute waste of a service they need a better appointment service more doctors more receptionists and doctors that actually care.

Started calling at 8. At that point I was 87th in queue. Got through to receptionist at 9.23 and got an appointment via a very helpful receptionist. But surely there's a more humane queuing system? I appreciate the queue provides a gatekeeping role but even so, feels like the last 2 expansions in previous 4 years was a step too far for the surgery.

I am reviewing on behalf of my 88 year old mum : I rang penarth healthcare as my elderly mum was experiencing toothache , I spoke to Michelle on the phone she couldn’t have been kinder . The care my mum received from from the lovely dentist she saw today was exceptional . A caring highly personable and professional dental practise . Thank you also to Jess for your kindness .
