Alen, who served us, was brilliant and really made a great impression and looked after the kids. Plus the gentleman on breakfast service was really nice. Sadly I can't remember his name though and check in was painless. Leisure facility gpod and the pool wasnt busy which was great.Overall wicked experience

My friend and I have just returned home after a stay at Burbage/Hinkley Island hotel and we have not stopped talking about how impressed we were with our stay! The room was exquisite, beds so very comfortable, breakfast was lovely and the scent throughout the hotel was just something else! My friend and I hope to rebook very soon for another reunion. I’d highly recommend this place ❤️

The rooms were in line with expectations for the price paid. The leisure centre facilities are a welcome addition and do enhance the overall stay. Guests seeking a calm and well-organised breakfast experience may wish to avoid dining here during peak times, unless arriving very early. Breakfast service was extremely chaotic, with staff circulating aimlessly rather than being allocated to specific sections of the restaurant. Food was not replenished in a timely manner, and even basic items such as sliced bread were unavailable for over 20 minutes, despite repeated requests. Staff appeared overly occupied serving items that guests could reasonably help themselves to. Dinner service reflected similar inefficiencies. Service was slow and lacked attentiveness, with several staff members congregating and chatting instead of monitoring tables or orders. We waited over 40 minutes for dessert, which was only served after the sole competent staff member, Abigail, personally intervened to retrieve the plates. She was the only positive aspect of the dining experience. Overall, the hotel would benefit from urgently addressing its service and staffing issues within the dining areas. This was our second stay; on our first visit we did not dine in the evening and had an early breakfast, which may explain the more positive experience previously. Unfortunately, the dining experience on this occasion significantly reduced the overall rating. Otherwise, the stay would have warranted a solid 4 out of 5. A further mark was deducted due to a blocked sink, which was noticed by a staff member but not remedied.

It was a great stay. We ordered room service, which was delicious and very quick. Breakfast was excellent, thanks to the wonderful staff (sorry, I forgot her name!). We also used the leisure centre—nice and clean. On top of that, there was plenty of parking available. We had a great experience from check-in to check-out. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and we will definitely visit again.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful three-night stay at the Leonardo Hotel, Hinkley Island, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. This hotel is impressive in both size and service, running smoothly and efficiently, but what truly stood out were the incredible staff members. Each and every team member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had the most pleasant stay. A special shout-out to Beth and Faith at reception, who welcomed us with warm, genuine smiles and were always ready to assist with any request. Their customer service was second to none, making us feel like valued guests from the start. Similarly, Meghan at the bar was an absolute gem—so friendly, professional, and attentive, making our evenings even more enjoyable. It’s clear that the staff at the Leonardo Hotel are not only well-trained, but also truly care about their guests, and that makes all the difference. They really went the extra mile to make our families’ half-term breaks unforgettable. Thank you so much to the entire team for making our stay so special. You are a true credit to the Leonardo Hotel chain, and we can’t wait to return! The Gomez & Welch families

Overall was a very positive stay. Two key wins was that the family room was very large and spacious and great value for money in comparison to nearby alternatives. The Spa area and swimming facilities were very nice also. My one gripe was that the service could have been better and the staff should have had better knowledge and well educated about their own packages and offerings which would have made the experience flawless. We booked directly opting for the Superior Family Room paying extra for the early check-in and late checkout bonus as well as some additional goodies such as complimentary bottled water, biscuits, newspaper, coffee vouchers on arrival. Instead the staff appeared to not knowing the arrangements and so we did not get all of these items until calling reception to remind them after checking in (Missing water, missing biscuits, missing newspaper, missing one bath towel). Even after all that and calling reception, they came up without the biscuits because they had ran out. Not to sound all petty over some biscuits but if I'm paying the extra for that package then I should well be getting those items as advertised by the offering without needing to remind them and still not getting what I should be entitled to in the end. That said, the experience overall was positive and cannot fault the comfortable and spacious rooms and good value but next time, I will just book and pay for the normal Family Room since the "enhanced" one does not really exist.

A one night stay to attend a grandaughter's 21st party in Hinckley. Staff very friendly and helpful despite being very busy - well done. Rooms very warm, clean and comfortable. Food we ordered in the afternoon was good too. Would definitely use again and recommend.

I went here for a party and a stay over. The hotel is nicely presented, staff were helpful when needed, the room I was in was spacious, but it was one of the end rooms, I didn't see any other room. The main toilets could have been serviced more often throughout the night as the hand wash had run out at the beginning of the night and not replenished. Good location for travel as well.

Went for a 2 day work conference. Meeting rooms were fine but every room had a different temperature so at some points you were in Spain and other times in the darkest Icelandic cliff edge. The rooms were huge and had 2 double beds in, showers were good and everything was pretty clean. The food throughout was OK, nothing special but nothing to complain about either.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and were pleased to see there were lots of free parking spaces available and the hotel was a good size. The family room we stayed in was also a good size and we had a decent night's sleep, although the Bathroom was showing signs of wear and tear. Before we stayed, I emailed reception and asked if I needed to book a swimming slot as knew my children would want to swim whilst we were there, and I received a reply to tell me I needed to book this at reception on arrival. When we arrived, I was told by the receptionist that the pool was closed between 4 - 6 pm and I would need to go to the pool area or call them to book a slot. As soon as we arrived in the room, I called them to be told they were fully booked. My only option was to come now (4.30) and have until 5 pm. I cannot understand how they were fully booked when check-in is not until 4.00 pm! We, therefore, had no option but to rush down there and spent half an hour in the pool. We were told if the full amount of people booked did not arrive, we could have longer and they would come and tell us but this never happened. There were a lot of people in the pool so you could hardly swim anyway and there appeared to be a lot of people lying on the loungers around the pool or sitting there on their phones which I did not feel was appropriate when children were in the pool. Breakfast time arrived and there was a small queue waiting at the entrance to the breakfast area but the staff that were serving simply saw us standing there and carried on with their duties. We all eventually got bored and just walked in and sat down to eat breakfast. We did notice there was someone standing there on our way out but am sure someone should have been there to check us in. The breakfast offering had a mixed selection, but half of the buffet breakfast bowls were empty. and the food did not seem to be refilled as quickly as it was being eaten. Overall, we had a good sleep and enjoyed the look and feel of the hotel but it's just a shame about the lack and false communication provided.
