My daughter is at uni in Cardiff and I've had to ring Four Elms a few times to make appointments for her when she's been unable to ring herself. The receptionists are the friendliest, most helpful I have ever encountered. In a world where drs receptionists get a bad press, and I have come across some who definitely deserve the bad press, these ladies are stars and even my daughter says how lovely they are!!

Great callback system and very nice receptionists, doctors and people all around :3 Got my repeat prescriptions done here and there was not a hitch in the process

I would give minus stars as this is an unsafe medical centre. I am a lawyer and found myself forced to register with this shower. I have raised a compliant with the GMC that is how bad they are. Rupert Smith decided not to provide the legal requirement for basic GP care, he has falsified my medical records in an attempt to cover up what he did do and what he did not do. There are laws in place - which he has broken - regarding a patients records and how they have to be correct. I had recorded a meeting he had with me due to the concerns I already held but he does not think anything other than his narcissistic personality is important. I discovered he had falsified my records when I moved to another part of the UK and the new GP had a crazy conversation with me as a result of the lies he has told in my records. Avoid you would be safer without a doctor. He considers himself as God the patient has no rights. I am lucky that I could leave Cardiff as he could have caused me serious suffering with a medical condition I was born with, this has been confirmed by the specialist I am now attending. Quite an evil man.

It’s my first time in the UK and my first impression of the NHS. The doctors there are not helpful at all, I’ve only met one doctor that actually helped me. The first doctor made a terrible mistake and compromised my health TERRIBLY to the point I’m considering taking legal action against him. I’m not gonna be long enough here on Cardiff but if i was to stay I’d definitely go to another surgery. Last but not least is the huge issues with their communication systems. I called multiple times and when i was first in line the call suddenly stopped.

Justina the lovely receptionist elevates rating for my experience with this practice. She's always friendly, cheerful and really helpful. The queue system has improved massively since they implemented the callback system. You can't always get an appointment but at least you don't have to wait while your phone redials 100s of times.

Absolutely disgusting treatment and complete disregard to patients well being. Have been on the phone several times after being on hold for half an hour each time and have been refused a new prescription even though the doctors have been at fault and prescribed me medication that I cannot take they are unwilling to fix this and change my prescription even though I’ve run out and are making me ring up again the famous 8:30 line for me to go through this whole thing again. Would not recommend this doctors surgery to anyone if they want to be helped in anyway.

The worst practice I have been under, the receptionist is is hard to deal with as she doesn't know what she is doing. The doctors and nurses I have spoken to have no empathy or understanding and treat their patients as if we want to pull a fast one on them. You can't get through on the phone unless it's after appointments are closed which is useless, I don't understand how they are still open the inspectorate pdf on their site seems like the insoectors visited a different gp all togwther

Rude, disgusting, no empathy With them for a month before they told me they wouldn't give me my medication. By then I had already run out and was having withdrawrals. They refused to help in anyway, even when I tried to move.

I have been with this surgery and the CRI surgery for most of my life. I prefer to stay with Four Elms because the doctors are excellent. Yes, it can take about 20 minutes to get through to the receptionist, but the vast majority of the staff are helpful and sometimes even go out of their way to help where they can. I find it is better to go into the surgery to talk to the receptionists. You can order a repeat prescription and sometimes book appointments online through the myhealthonline website if you set up an account through the surgery. They give you a sheet that explains how to do it. I would like to say that one of the doctors saw my husband as an emergency appointment a few years ago when he was very agitated and hurting himself. But whereas some doctors might have refused to deal with him in such a state, he talked to my husband calmly and made an emergency appointment with the mental health team for him. He handled my husband with such compassion. The other doctors are all excellent too. If something doesn't seem right, they investigate further with tests and a referral if necessary. They really look after you. I think they have a very good team of GPs and I wanted to point out that I choose to stay with this surgery even though it isn't the nearest one to me.

Drastic improvements needed at this surgery. On Monday 27th September between my personal and work phone I tried calling for an appointment over 500 times! 3 times I 'got through' only to be then cut off. The Dr's are great and very personable. I called today (8th Oct) and the phone rang for a solid 30 mins before anyone picked up. There was no 'sorry to keep you waiting' and receptionist had the cheek to say 'if they call back, may sure the line is free'. I swear they just let the phones ring and ring in the hope that the other surgery will pick up. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a queuing system telling you where you are in the queue. Tried to register for My Health Online but the surgery is not on the list.
