Premier Inn Queen Street Cardiff - Room 124. Check in is done by yourself via a monitor. Uts not difficult, it just lacks the human factor. Our room for 3 was lacking enough cups, tea and coffee. 2 cups with enough stash for 1 person. However we later found out customer self service for tea, milk, iron and boards just right hand side of the entrance to the hotel. The room was okay, a single pillow each, nobody to speak to at the help desk and nobody to phone. Washing facilities were fine. The beds and mattresses were comfy either enough lighting and air con worked just fine. This location is central for shopping in Cardiff or a 15 minute walk maximum for Theatres, shopping or Cardiff Central train station. We paid extra for our breakfast, service for breakfast was good. Breakfast selection was plenty with good drink options. Also everyone was asked kn arrival if they had any allergies or intolerance, those who did, had certain items brought to the table.

Stayed at weekend just gone. Saturday to Monday. Going to see Cliff at the Arena. Location wise for this is only five minutes away which is ideal. But they need to get more staff when busy. On Saturday for evening meal, Cliff fans arriving and there were South African rugby fans as well. Big game against Wales earlier. Waiting time for food took ages, our drinks arrived as we was just finishing eating. Even though had asked several times. Sunday evening even more chaotic. I went to bar this time to order wanted two jacket potatoes which can order before 5pm. Was waiting over half hour to be served, but by then was gone 5pm so no jackets for us. Still waiting so long, as many were. Terrible service, needed more staff. They were also running out of food. Shelves in dining room were dusty. Could write name in it. Customer service area where people staying could top up tea, coffee etc was empty. Breakfast also quite bad nothing was being topped up,and had to wait for hot food to be ready. Sunday evening I was even prepared to help serve meals myself. But of course was told no. No glasses In room for drinking water. Little round tables next to bed, bit useless as square ones are much better. Expected better from Premier inn and not cheap. Would not rate this particular one at all.

Good hotel, good location very close to Queen Street station (2 mins train from Cardiff Central). Lady who checked us in was great, friendly and informative. We checked in early for £15. Room was spacious. We didn't have breakfast because we wanted a lay-in. Our biggest gripe was the carpet and skirting boards had not been hoovered very well. The skirting board under my small floating bedside unit was covered in dust. The space on my side of the bed next to the window is very tight and looks like the cleaners are not hoovering there properly. And generally the carpets had had a quick once over not a proper hoover, still hair and bits on it. We asked for the room to be serviced again the next day so they could do it again but the cleaner only topped up our tea bags and tissue. So we asked again and specifically said please hoover the room. All other surfaces & bathroom was clean but either hoover more thoroughly or get better hoovers. Also, if you shower at peak time in the morning it will be cold.

Positives: Excellent room; adequately spacious, very well maintained. Very adequate heating. Excellent shower facility, both conventional & ceiling shower with forceful and plenty of hot water. Stunningly noise free; absolute ‘library silence’. Superb mattress & pillows; excellent sleep quality. Super-fast lifts. Excellent reception & Cafe attendants in the morning of our leaving (Ebony & Katie; 5*). Even though the breakfast menu was standard Premier Inn one, the quality of preparation was even better than the ones I have experienced in other Premier Inn facilities. Location could not have been better; one minute from the station. Negatives: No choice of changing the room (computerised check in). Dispassionate insensitive "Reception" ladies in the evening of checking in. No internet connectivity for any of the mobiles; tried all standard steps (could connect only at 11.30pm). Laptop connectivity was slow till very late evening. Without these three negatives, I would have rated my experience as 5+.

I stayed here for two days. Was lucky enough to stay in the premium room. The standards were the usual high premier inn standards but the reason I’ll be back are the staff. They were so kind, friendly and helpful. Made me feel right at home. Each member greeted me with a smile and I never felt like a burden if I had a question. Amazing work to the team I’ll be back thanks to you.

Needed a hotel for one night after a works Christmas party and this one was perfect. It only cost £40 for one night and the hotel looks great. The rooms are typical Premier Inn rooms, but was clean and roomy. The hotel is in a great location, just a stone throw from Capitol. We had the breakfast, which I paid for separately and it was excellent. Food was tasty, with plenty of selections. Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Cardiff.

A friend and I had a 2 night stay at Queens St Premier Inn. We were allocated a room next to each other. We have both stayed at this hotel before, a few years ago, as well as other Premier Inns. Our rooms had recently been renovated, and what a difference. New carpets, the sofa bed had gone and was replaced with a coffee table and 2 chairs. The shower was a walk in rather than climb over the bath, shiny clean glass not a fabric shower curtain. Good quality shower/ body wash and 2 types of shower head. Still the basic comfortable room, but much brighter. Even the coat hangers had been replaced. The only critics my friend had was that there were no drawers to put clothes in! Didn’t bother me. We were notified before arrival that the restaurant and bar was closed for renovation(apparently opening in December). I didn’t hear any noise from the builders. This didn’t impact on our stay as we went out for breakfast and ate out in the evening. St David’s Centre five minute walk away. There was free tea and coffee in the foyer and pastries with fresh fruit in the mornings. Staff were helpful and polite. No doubt we will be back when are visiting Cardiff again.

Wow, where to start. I walked in and was ignored by 2 members of staff. Unbelievably both of them on separate desks didn't even acknowledge myself of my friend and got up from their desks and walked right by us. When finally I did manage to book in, I was told, no bar, no restaurant and no breakfast. Unbelievable!!!! Then I get to my room and it looked like the place had been robbed. Not even a shower curtain. It was just really poor all round really.

Stayed here for 1 night. We have stayed in quite a few Premier Inn hotels , did not really like this one, location good, but room small and not the same look when you normally enter Premier Inn bedrooms this one looked quite dull and dated (318). It's nice to arrive at a hotel, relax maybe have a drink before you go to your room even a nice evening meal, best of all a premier Inn breakfast, not this time sadly last minute email to us, restaurant/bar area all closed refurb, to late to find another hotel, we lost the all relaxing experience. Courtesy., hot drink, pastries and some fruit offered for breakfast, sat on a wooden few chairs in foyer area, not the same , they tried though. Probably will not return to this Premier inn
