i booked this hotel for me and my partner, when we first arrived we went to the reception and the woman was wearing a big coat, a scarf and a hat which should have been a sign. we got our key card and went to the room. The second we walked in we realised how cold the room was and that there are 2 doors to get in, when you walk through the first door there is a window looking into the room and a second door leading in. the first door was very shaky and could easily be broken. the heater was on but the only thing it heated up was itself, even after being turned up to full blast. the window wouldnβt close properly and there was a draft coming from every angle. the bed was on a slant and when you lay down your feet are higher up than your head. the painting from the wall was falling and everything was dirty. the bathroom was spacious but absolutely freezing. the pictures look better than in real life, the bed was comfortable but once again on a slant. stayed there for an hour and decided we both had enough and booked the premier down the road instead. when my partner went to check out the lady at reception was blow drying her hair. she offered us another room but we said no, she also said that we will all go down and have a look at the room and pulled out a master keycard from the shelf which anyone would have access to.

Oh my God what an experience. I will never book this hotel again. Do not be fooled by the pictures as they look nice where as, in reality, the actual rooms are awful. They are dinghy, very dated, very cold and uninviting. Bed very uncomfortable, cheapest mattress they could find no doubt. It looked like an American road side motel in the ghetto. We did not sleep well as we did not feel safe, got the feeling all night long that someone was going burst through the door any minute. I could not eat the breakfast, very cheap and basic. Female cook had very long hair that was not tied back or covered in anyway, and they definitely need to sack their decorator. To add insult to injury, we had to pay to park the car in their carpark!!!!

A rather dated hotel thatβs out the way, not exactly the comfiest or screams cleanliness. It did feel like I was at some point going to have Javier Bardem appear like in No Country For Old Men with how it looks. However, the staff are kind and cheery and you canβt really go wrong for the price - especially when a big event is on.

Iβve spent the past few days at the hotel and have been impressed. The room was perfectly equipped for a relaxing stay. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service from the reception team, especially Dona. Her quick responses, and genuine willingness to help are wonderful.

I had a wonderful experience staying at the Beacon Hotel Cardiff. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. The atmosphere of the hotel was warm and comfortable, making my stay really enjoyable. A special mention goes to Drulval at reception β he was incredibly polite, professional, and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. His friendliness made me feel right at home. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely recommend the Beacon Hotel Cardiff to anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free experience. Iβll be happy to return on my next visit to the city!

Not cleanest of hotels, very basic and dated, Β£150 deposit required on arrival make sure your room is as when arrived or will keep that deposit. Breakfast have to book a slot, tbh not worth value burnt even though made to order. Staying on business but really would not recommend unless just needing a bed for night. Beds uncomfortable and not friendliest of staff housekeeping very rude not hospitable. Coffee and teas cups etc not in rooms have to request at reception. Rooms smelt like dirty toilet water used to clean them

Not a charming place to stay. Feels like cave with glass window. No privacy coz of transparent curtains. Due to time constraints we planned quickly in budget. Room doesn't feel fresh. As many of you know it smells damp. Β£10-20/night is more than sufficient for this quality of maintenance. Bathrooms not all well maintained. Β£18 is exorbitant for basic breakfast. Room size is smaller than a one bedroom apartment. Since this is the first time in Wales gave it a shot but wouldn't be back. Never! We look for some freshness when we are away from home not the smell of a undried clothes lying in washing machine and taken out after a week. Not sure what is done with all the money we pay for stay. Basic freshener will do the job.

This hotel is a budget hotel but very good value for money. The bonus for me they accept dogs which was good. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good quality and plenty of choice. The cooked breakfast it cooked to order which means its nice and hot. The staff are very cheerful and helpful nothing is to much trouble for them

Stayed here over bank Holiday weekend. Room was basic, twin beds, standard bathroom with shower only. Room looked tired and could do with a freshen up but it was clean and bed was comfy. Breakfast was fantastic. Made to order and good produce. Choice of cereals, fruit, yogurts, toast, muffins, croissants, and jams. Good choice of coffees too. Would definitely stay again.
