UPDATE Aug 2025 Apparently according to local reports this is now a migrant hotel. Whilst I have nothing against the people living there or the concept, it does feel like a shame for such a beautiful building like this not to be open to the public. BUT, as a private business, how the owners choose to run it is up to them I guess. This used to be a very cool and nicely appointed hotel. My in laws used to stay here when they came to visit. There was a wonderful terrace to sit out on during the summer. Unfortunately I think the pandemic did for them. The building is now gruby, with weeds growing out of the walls and is falling apart. There were some signs of activity when I walked by the other morning. Looks like there are some people living in it, but their www says it is 'temporarily closed' and has said that for over a year. Such a shame that this beautiful building is just rotting away!

Stayed for one night for work. Staff very welcoming. Room was clean but being an attic room it was very very warm all night so despite a comfy bed, not the greatest nights sleep! Ate in the bar area. Food was tasty and was very full. When I stay places on my own it can sometimes be intimidating but this definitely wasn’t, felt quite comfortable sitting on my own. Would recommend!

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Decent sized room, soft but comfortable bed, and good powerful shower. The breakfast was varied, and of a good quality. The staff were generally very helpful. The only downside on our stay was the room next door, who felt they needed the TV on loud at every waking moment. Not the hotels issue though, and doesn't affect my overall rating.

Attended a friend's party here. Food was pretty good,; they put on a special menu which was great. Bar expensive, but I don't drink out much, so may have noticed price a bit more! Otherwise, nice venue. We had a separate few rooms downstairs, with private (though tiny!) bar. For more choice had to walk through hotel to main bar, but not a problem. Nice looking garden, but rain meant we didn't use it (no covered areas)

This place is a little off. They're clearly going for a boutique hotel feel, but they don't quite make it. I was travelling for work, and I suspect I was in one of the cheapest rooms. Each room is unique, but the mismatched junk-shop furniture vibe was trending more towards just being shabby than being shabby chic. Also the chain for raising and lowering the blind was broken in my room, which combined with a couple of other observations indicates they aren't maintaining it too well. During my stay, it appeared that they were having staffing problems. On one morning, the breakfast which was supposed to start at 7am was not forthcoming at all due to a lack of any staff to take orders or complete the breakfast set up. I ended up doing the last of the setup myself, so that I and other guests could at least get a hot drink and some toast while we waited for a waitress to arrive. The quality of the food was good. Nothing on the menu was particularly innovative or exciting, but it was done well and the portions were good. The rooms were comfortable, as was the bed. I slept well all week as the hotel has a fairly quiet location, whilst still being within easy walking distance of the main street. All in all, I enjoyed my stay here. I would be happy to return.

This hotel makes me scratch my head perplexed by how it's still running but even though there's so many faults with this place, I strangely enjoyed staying here. I stayed here for a week on business and it didn't get off to a good start. I arrived at 7pm only to find reception completely empty. Ringing the bell for several minutes did nothing so I ended up walking around looking for someone. Not a great start. The room itself looked something from circa 1994 but it was clean and the bathroom was well decorated. The bed though - if you move on it in the slightest the squeaking was unbearable. However, it was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and I woke every morning having had a good night's sleep. The staff were friendly and I can't fault them for anything - they were attentive and polite. Breakfast was fine for the whole week but my stomach doesn't tolerate hot food in the morning so unfortunately I can't review it but there was a selection of cereals and yogurts so I can't complain. Overall, I'm still not sure if I'd stay here again - this hotel definitely made me laugh though and I appreciated it's quirky charm.
