Just off the m4. Room is fine. Basic but all you need. Noise levels are fine too. I can hear faint voices in the other rooms but not like other places I've stayed before.

Thank you to all the staff. A special shout-out to the manager, Alan, for kindly keeping hold of my son’s cuddly toy for the best part of six months. As we live far away, we did not expect the hotel to keep it for so long, and we are extremely grateful. Our stay was very comfortable, but it was the staff who added that extra layer of welcome and hospitality. Thank you also to Cion (I hope I’ve spelt that correctly). My wife phoned the hotel ahead of my arrival to arrange collection. Although she couldn’t get through initially, Cion returned the call — something that rarely happens these days. She truly went above and beyond to help, and we are very thankful.

Can you give minus star reviews… I wouldn’t allow a decomposing body to stay in this hotel… I have stayed in many Travelodges during my years both for pleasure and business however that has just come to a screeching halt. I booked a last minute break for myself, husband and two children and chose this hotel as some where to stay. We arrived shortly after 10pm after a 4.5 hour drive, checked in and the smell should have given what was to come away. However, we thought it might just be reception that smelt. We were handed one key, not a card but an actual key (is it 1987 all of a sudden?). We walked down the smelly corridor thinking this will pass and reached our door. The corridor had been dirty and smelly with the walls marked with both scuffs, dirt and other unidentifiable stuff. At one point I can only imagine it would be better to crawl through the butt crack of the local tramp. Door unlocked and opened and the smell smacked us in the back of our throats. With our eyes starting to water we ventured in thinking maybe it’s actually one of those scare rooms you find at theme parks, but no we were left disappointed it was just a dirty smelly room, and I am being generous here. What started with a putrid smell ended up with a full scale search and rescue mission for what could have been the cause of the delicacy that was now playing on our tastebuds. We searched high and low and all we could find was an ever increasing pile of dirt, filth and health jeopardising things. Piles of pubes, body hair, dust, food, spilt drinks stains. Every surface was covered in dust, you can see in the pictures, it clearly hasn’t been cleaned in decades. Once it started you just couldn’t stop, it caused fear like we were running out of time in a panic room to the point that I actually started to be sick. We had been in the room 9 minutes and we both had already decided that we were not staying put. We went to leave and the door handle on THE ONLY EXIT FROM THE ROOM came off the door in our hands, so we were stuck, in the crack of a dead tramp, breathing what can only be described as the stench of death. Panic set in, eventually after calming our two children both under 11 who had their sleeves over their mouths the whole time we managed to get out of the death box. My husband went and sought help from reception which eventually arrived some 30 minutes later. A random man, not a travel lodge uniform in sight, but I think he may have worked for EE at some point as he was wearing part of their uniform, wandering around a bedroom unable to work a phone or provide any real world assistance apart from saying I can’t help… at nearly 11pm with two small kids in tow.. He eventually conceded that we would be best finding another hotel recommending a premier inn, he confirmed we would be better there as they were much better than this hotel… so that’s what we did, went to premier inn. We bumped into some people in the car park as we left and warned them of what was to come for them and we could see the fear in their eyes as they turned away. Did get my money back and £50.00 compensation so I have to say they did put it right but it’s put me off Travelodge for life..

Room was clean with a comfortable bed. Sink plug was stuck fast, water drained away very slowly. Hand wash dispenser was broken. The hotel is very shabby, my room door looked as if it had been forced at some time, there was no security at door entrance. Anyone could have got in unnoticed. There was no locking facility on the inside of my room. I put my suitcase behind my room door. Staff on reception were nice, but not always present.

Easy to access hotel tucked inside the services. The rooms had all the basic necessities needed and a comfy bed to sleep in however there was only one plug socket in the whole room next to the TV for the kettle. The sides/shelves next to the bed were still dirty from a previous occupant spilling something, and the toilet seat was broken/loose so moved when you used it. Downside to being in the services there is no breakfast option offered by the hotel but with a burger king right outside there are plenty of other options Other than that it was a nice stay and the staff were friendly on arrival to get me checked in, despite coming later in the day and the desk being closed they came back to complete the check in once called on the number provided.

It’s a good place to stay at if you want to explore wales.Overall good place although rooms were found quite dirty and for the breakfasts they were packed in a box, probably would’ve preferred Costa or Greggs. Very convenient for a Greggs,Costa,Burger King and WHSmith. However the cleanliness was a bit of an issue, the towel we asked for all had these orangey stains on them, disgusting , and crumbs in the chair where the bin is kept.

Spent 2 nights here first night everything was well no concerns and would of rated higher but upon return for second night a fault was found on smoke alarm and the room had to be cleared which is fair enough. Swap to a new room and as soon as I walked into it the windows where wide open and the room was like an ice box not very inviting at all the bed was freezing and it took the room hours just to warm up enough to be comfortable. Made a complaint to member of staff and all he could say was sorry

Tv remotes didn't work in the rooms an reception said nothing they can do. Toilet roll holder an towel rail loose an hanging off. Horrible smell of damp or sweaty feet throughout. Everything very noisy. Doors don't have soft close on them so when in an area with kids that go in an out every 30secs it's bang bang bang. Walls are also paper thin so screaming kids from other rooms can be heard an keep you awake.

It was not my intention to spend 8 nights in a travelodge last week. I picked this hotel as I knew the location was great and near to the Royal glam. The staff were absolutely outstanding in helping me and my sister throughout our stay ensuring our rooms were opposite, topping up towels, drinks, etc at silly times due to us sleeping at weird times. also when we extended our stay and shared a room they ensured we could keep one of the rooms we were in so we wouldn't have to move. They couldn't do enough for us and would always let us through if the other had the key.
