We visited for the Lanterns of the Wild event, it was the best lantern show we've seen and we've seen a few. There was over a mile of lanterns, loads of different zones, including a fantastic Gruffalo themed section. We enjoyed hot chocolates to begin with, followed by hot mulled wine as we continued through the area. Highly recommend. It really gets you in the Festive mood!

Went to the Lantern show for the first time and it was incredible! All the displays were amazing, you could see the amount of effort that went into it. We were there for 2 and 1/2 hours and could have been there for longer (it was cold). It is totally worth visiting and worth the price! Hope they have it again next year. There were different themes e.g The Gruffalo story, Sea creatures, Animals etc The only thing I wish they had were more food stands & halal friendly food.

What can I say…..the Lanterns of the Wild display was absolutely amazing. We loved the experience. The team that put this event in place must have worked so hard to achieve an outstanding display. We loved every second. There was food and facilities available throughout the route and everyone was understanding when others wanted to stop and take photos. Overall…….just amazing. I would give 6/5 stars if I could.

We went to the lantern light display and I must admit we were really impressed with it. It meanders its way through the zoo and is a good walk - it’s not a short 30-40 minute walk especially if you stop and stare at the displays. Kids will love it. I didn’t take many photos at all - there is so much to see. The light display is fantastic but food and drink not so much; take your own food at least, including chocolate biscuits - if you’re doing the toasted marshmallows you can make your own s’mores

We visited Twycross Zoo’s Lanterns of the Wild with myself, my partner, and our two young children (aged 2 years and 9 months), and we had a truly wonderful time. Seeing Santa in the grotto was a real highlight — he was absolutely brilliant with the babies, making the experience feel so special. Santa’s elves were fantastic too, especially Jingle and Jangle, who put on an amazing show and kept everyone entertained. The lanterns themselves were truly phenomenal and created such a magical atmosphere throughout the zoo. A lovely, festive experience for the whole family and one we’d highly recommend.

We came with our kids for our youngest daughter's 1st birthday. We enjoyed all of the animals. Good choice of animals too. They all looked happy and well looked after. We also enjoyed the gruffalo experience. Great fun with children, our legs hurt now! Toilets were clean and quite a few around so good when the kids always need the loo. They definitely need more hand soap though. Nice outdoor play areas for kids and seating for parents. Definitely lots to look around. Personally I didn't think the gift shop was expensive. They had offers on which is good when you have more than 1 child. We took our own food so can't say anything about the food. Definitely recommend for a family day out I think our kids will be talking about this for a while. Thank you

Went there with a group of adults and kids. It was really nice and not too big to walk around which was good meaning the younger kids didn’t need too much resting in between. Lovely places to sit and eat outside with benches and on grass. There were quite a few different animals to see but it wasn’t overcrowded like some other zoos and there were parts which were interactive so that was nice for the kids. The butterfly place and the tiger experience were really outstanding and we had a chance to catch the penguins being fed which was fun. Overall it was a good place to visit but I wouldn’t go often as it is quite expensive.

After visiting Chester and seeing practically nothing, it was nice to visit a zoo where you actually get to see the animals. I spent a Saturday here from opening to closing. The best time was the last 2 hours because people with really young kids had taken their pushchairs and prams and left, making more room to view the animals properly. The guest services staff were very friendly and helpful, as were most of the staff I encountered. Only criticism I have, there were no water bottle filling stations, and a ½ litre bottle of water was £2. I understand hiking up the other food & drink prices, but they need to do better on a basic necessity. Temperatures were in excess of 30°C the day I was there.

Great zoo. Has lots of good animals. Giraffes. Rhinos. Tigers. Snow leopard. Leopards. Meerkats. Zebras. Loads of types of monkeys gorillas etc. Very easy to navigate around and see everything. Very cute. They have Costa there too but you can't use your Costa card there. Not a lot food wise but they do have ice cream and hot drink stalls. Worth a visit. Easy to drive to. The weather wasn't always on our side today when we went, but it was still a good day out

Excellent social distancing, loved seeing the animals. Timed it right to see a lot of the feedings. Loved the interactive experiences like parrot walk through areas, even went back for a second trip. Would definitely recommend visiting parrots in the morning because they seemed less interactive in the evening. Prices were reasonable. Enjoyed the walk through lemur enclosure. The food places were a little busy but bringing your own lunch is definitely an option with all the seating available.
