   A girl in our group had her drink spiked. Security guard threw her over his shoulder, banged her head against the wall and carried her out. No care, no apparently first aid and no concern for those in the club.

   Après Lounge is a cute, intimate little bar in Leicester with a unique ski lodge and winter themed interior that really stands out. We visited on a bank holiday weekend around 6 PM and, surprisingly, we were the only customers there at the time. The dull weather may have played a part, but it did mean we had the place to ourselves, which made for a very relaxed experience. There is a live DJ, great vibes, and plenty of drinks offers, especially on cocktails. I ordered a Cuba Libre which was essentially a double rum and Coke, simple but strong. My husband had an espresso martini and honestly, it was one of the best we’ve ever had. It actually tasted like cold coffee rather than just a sweet cocktail, though we watched them pour the alcohol in, so it definitely packed a punch. The outdoor garden and bar area is a highlight, really spacious and nicely set up for when the weather is better. It seems they share the outdoor seating space with the venue next door, but it still feels like its own spot. There is also an upstairs area which I assume is used for private events, while the toilets are located downstairs. All in all, a cosy and stylish bar that is worth checking out, especially for a chilled night out or a well made cocktail in a unique setting.

   Sister bar to Bruxelles and has the link to garden outside. Superb djs from Superfly and Flat White records, Saturday and Friday respectively. There are djs in the bar and the garden outside. One of busiest and liveliest places in Leicester. House music is the main genre. Friday nights has r n b and other music inside Apres lounge. Good range of drinks and excellent service. Highly recommended for a proper night out.

   Unable to enter as bouncer said ‘only couples allowed’ I was stood their with my partner so I told him we are a couple and he just repeated himself, whether or not he thought my partner was my friend due to us both being females or whether he did not want us in because we were a couple I’m not too sure. After telling him again that we were a couple he just stared forward and chose to ignore us, it was the tall bald guy, seemed to just be another bouncer abusing his power.

   Bouncers refused entry even though the bar was completely dead. Not the first time this has happened, way too prestige for a small Leicester bar. Owner should re consider the bouncers here, they are on a power trip.

   It's 12:30am and I've just been refused a second cup of tea; I can only assume because it's not cool enough and you have to drink alcohol here to impress the bar staff? A shame as we've had a good half hour up to now, despite the violence and police presence in the outside drinking area after an altercation. A very strange experience.

   We came from out of town. The good reviews are well deserved, what a wicked vibe this place has. We arrived quite early, perhaps around nine on a Friday night, it was quiet. After an hour it had really filled out. The DJs were really killing it with a vinyl turntable, the crowd was quite mixed, which we really liked, felt very inclusive but also special. They tread a fine line here, between bar and club, formal and casual, fun and serious, and seem to get the balance right on all accounts. We had a great time, if I ever make it back to Leicester you can count we'll visit again.
