Don’t bring your pet to this practise, we’ve lost a pets eye because of malpractice and we’ve lost two animals, both died due to neglect. The Animal Ark is owned by Linnaeus which is a company owned by the Mars Group. On another note did you know some vets have contracts where they get a percentage commission from the bill they produce. Do some reading up, ask questions when you become registered with a vets practice. Read the other reviews I’m not alone.

Extremely disappointing practice. On two separate occasions I was pushed straight towards unnecessary, invasive and very expensive procedures with barely any explanation. It came across as money-driven rather than focused on my dog’s actual needs. Both times I went elsewhere for a second opinion, and both times it was confirmed that the extreme treatments suggested here were not required at all. That alone says everything. Communication was rushed, dismissive, and felt like a box-ticking exercise. I sent a formal complaint which they have completely ignored, yet they were very quick to chase payment. That sums up the priorities of this clinic. After these experiences, I have zero trust in this practice and will never return. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Arrived 15 minutes late to the appointment to be met with a front desk who insisted that they only allow a 5 minute grace period and their consultation times only last for 15 minutes, so they wouldn’t see my pet even though I offered to wait to be seen. Unbelievable considering we’re dealing with animals, should my pet check his watch to make sure hes around on time or should I keep him locked in the house overnight against his will so we dont miss animal arks sacred 5 minute time window. Ive been a client since they opened, being the only vets serving the immediate area since the goddards closed, and seeing other reviews it seems some management change has happened in the last 1 or 2 years to the detriment of this practice and I can see that my disappointment is not isolated to just myself but many others feel let down too. In effect I wasted my trip and arranging everything around this appointment and was offered no understanding or flexibility regarding the situation (as they dont know or seem to care what people have to go through to both afford these appointments and reach these appointments) by the receptionist except a blank stare and being told to rebook if I wanted another appointment. This is all in addition to them trying to squeeze money out of us by forcing paid check up appointments, even when owners dont deem them necessary; for them to offer a prescription for basic flea drops and even charging to give the prescription for those drops. This isnt the first time I’ve had problems with this practice as in the past they’ve given wrong diagnoses for another pet all while paying for the privilege of the consultation and wrong medication. All in all I have to seriously think twice about whether I want to remain with this practice especially if the staff are not welcoming or compassionate in an environment such as this one

Thank you to the vet who helped Fio. (I don't know his name.) Fio was vomiting, and he received an injection which stopped the vomit, and Fio slowly recovered from it. Thank you for the follow-up. If Fio is happy l'm happy!

My cat died there and it has haunted me ever since. The vets spoke to us every day but repeated the same tests over and over, whilst my cat didn't eat and got weaker and weaker. Only when they finally tested for something else, did we find out what was wrong, but he died the next day. They left it far too late to test for the illness that he succumbed to. While this was going on, my cat had an eye removed; one nurse thought it was funny to joke about his missing eye. I can assure you that there was nothing funny about it. And while he was admitted to their hospital, we were sent a video of my cat eating a small amount of food without any context, which gave us false hope and was completely unfair to do. In addition, when I returned to the Animal Ark, I vividly recall a nurse bringing out a cat, with its face on view, out from one of the rooms. The problem with this was that the cat had just died! It was awful for me to see and hugely disrespectful of the cat and its owners. I raised a complaint but never heard back about it. Be very careful using Animal Ark as your vet.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!! please read the negatives reviews listed below and do not bring your pets here! this place used to be great, with great vets that cared, from the reviews I now know the practice was sold and taken over by a money hungry organisation. The practice no longer has 24/7 care so if your pet needs to stay overnight you would be expected to pick them up and take them an hours drive away to thamesmead, with only an hours warning and also drive all the way there in the morning to pick them up again to go back to animal ark. I am traumatised by the inadequate care given, the constant bills thrown in my face, the extortionate fees they charge. If you don't have the luxury of driving everyday to thamesmead then you lose your beloved pet, apparently this is the closest place that meets their requirements. I am traumatised to say the least, please I hope you go and register elsewhere, if your pet has any emergencies they will not be able to care for them but will happily take your money. it's like they want to avoid talking about the financial costs you will incur, the bill is given to you at the end and not even explained, the expectation is you pay or leave. The receptionist also need training, no compassion what so ever and won't call you back.

We have been using Animal Ark since we first got our beagle Sebastian 7 years ago. Whether it is for a regular check-up or something more serious, they always give us their undivided attention which is so important especially now in a time where the industry is in short supply for good vets. Super welcoming and professional from reception to nurses to vets. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We have 3 cats and can honestly say Ark have been an absolute blessing looking after them. It's actually a good feeling we have such a great team available when needed.

This vets was recommended to me and I am really pleased my pet is in their care. The staff are approachable, friendly and caring. It is run really well & clean. It is easy to get an appointment and the cost is reasonable compared to some vets i have been with. I left my last vets due to a receptionist who was rude and did not show any compassion after hours of losing my pet. I decided after years of being with them that I wanted to go somewhere else with my other pet. Even though I do have to travel further I do not regret my decision with the care shown at animal ark & the cost compared to some vets quotes is more affordable.

We have been using this practise for over 15 years and while I was concerned when they were sold on I didn't need to worry. The staff are lovely and the new vet is brilliant with my dogs. My saluki is not very keen on men but she was soon very comfortable with the vet even though he is male. So far I have not been disappointed.
