Well. I have to say the custom fitting I experienced from Liam was fantastic. I have been custom fit for various clubs at various locations, but this was the best I have had. Liam really spent the time and effort going through all the data with me (I create a lot of spin with driver so needed help getting this down) and he created the perfect build for me. I actually was invited back to double check everything was correct on a different day to make sure it was correct (which it was) and gained 30 yards on my current driver with the correct spin rates. Needless to say I ordered it, ready for an upcoming trip to St. Andrews. Thanks you Liam and team. Spot on. Will definitely be back when I'm due another custom fit.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent visit to your American Golf store located at Go Outdoors on the 19th of May, 2025. I had planned to purchase a significant amount of new gear in preparation for an upcoming golf holiday. However, my experience in-store was far from what I expected from a reputable retailer. While browsing, I was followed uncomfortably closely by an older staff member. This individual continued to trail us into the performance studio, where we were still just browsing, and abruptly made a rude and unnecessary comment implying that the area was "not for messing around or playing with." I found this remark both inappropriate and unprofessional, particularly as we were simply taking an interest in the products and exploring the space. In an effort to engage positively, I made a friendly comment asking which items he personally liked, only to be completely ignored. This dismissive behavior left me feeling judged and unwelcome — likely because we did not fit the stereotypical image of a golfer due to our age or appearance. It’s a real shame, as I had intended to fully equip myself for the trip at your store. Unfortunately, after this experience, I have decided not to return and have also shared this negative experience with fellow members at my golf club, many of whom were equally surprised and disappointed to hear about it. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as customer service and inclusivity should be at the heart of any retail experience — especially in a sport that should be open and welcoming to all.

These lot are a bunch of cowboys, the worst golf retailer there is by a long way. Rude, not bothered, and haven’t got a clue what there talking about. Even heard some racist remarks about uber drivers from the staff when they didn’t think I could hear anything. I’m utterly, utterly appalled in this day & age. Higher management really needs to look into this. I’ll be emailing head office. Toby, I can’t write a response but I’ve emailed your after sales team for you to get in touch with me to see what an earth is happening at this Coventry Store as I’m still so offended by the events in store. Could you please get in touch with me as I’d like to discuss this further. I’m a new comer to this game and really hope the whole industry is not like this as I won’t bother starting. Regards Tony.

Wanted a pair of summer trousers, but no light colours. Was told my size was one of their most popular (36S) but none in stock in any of their trouser ranges ! Staff didn't seem particularly interested. Won't bother going again.

I came into the store a couple of months ago, very eager to buy some clubs. I’m very new to golf as I explained to the lads that worked there, long story short I left with a set of clubs that cost me £1,100. No custom fit, straight from the display. I’m soon to learn this isn’t really the way it should be, I thought it was weird that I received an email after I left with a custom fit appointment dated and timed after I left the store. I’ve recently taken up golfing lessons and my instructor informs me the clubs are a completely bad fit for me, from the type of shaft to the length of club - after being told “I’m pretty normal high these are fine”. So it seems, embarrassingly, I’ve wasted my money. I would have thought someone new to the sport deserved a bit of extra attention and not be seen as an easy target for money. I won’t be using American golf again for any of my future purchases.

Ordered some custom fitted clubs, they ordered them into store but they came in the wrong length, which nobody checked. I eventually found out myself, took them back to the store in Coventry, for the Manager to check them and send them back to the factory,. He advised they would be back by a certain date, which didnt happen, they then apparently got delivered to the wrong store.... I was told they were delayed due to a "fire" but would be back in time for my planned golf trip.... they didnt come back in time they ignored my calls, generally didnt care as soon as they had my money. Not even an apology. AVOID THIS STORE LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE.

I attended the Central 6 Coventry American Golf store on the 21st of January 2023. The sales assistant Laura White was very professional and attentive in sorting out my voucher difficulty, and wouldn't give up until it was resolved. This was over and above the normal service expected. Many thanks Laura.

I purchased a new Taylormade putter which I was looking at on line for a while. Callum arranged to get it into store for me to try. Fantastic customer service, really appreciated the extra mile. Definitely 5star service

Went for a custom fit and the young lad that assessed me was brilliant. As I being recommended standard clubs they would be available next day. Before going to the till to pay I decided to get a couple of shorts which were one a deal 2 for £50. Asked the guy at the till (a different guy) how much was for one and he said £35. So I said I am happy to get two if you have my size. But he said we don’t have stock. I asked for a £5 discount bearing I mind I was about to pay almost £700 for my new set of clubs. But he was so rude in saying they would not give me the discount that I decided not to buy the clubs. You might think: the price is the price. Fair enough but the way it was handled shows how little they care about their customer and I’ll never put my feet in their shop anymore. Also make sure I share my experience with my friends. You won’t have my money American golf!
