Cautionary Review: St. George's Nursery – Transparency and Flexibility Concerns Having engaged with St. George's Nursery for both of my children's childcare, I've encountered recurring issues that potential parents should be aware of before deciding on this nursery. Pros: The nursery's facilities are well-maintained, and the staff during visits seemed warm and professional. Cons: Lack of Transparency: There was a significant lack of clarity in the registration process. Important policies regarding deposits and government-funded childcare hours were not clearly communicated upfront. After making initial payments, I was informed of additional charges and terms that had not been previously discussed. Inflexible Childcare Hours: My requests for term-time only care were not accommodated, similar to past experiences with my daughter, where the nursery imposed extended hours throughout the year. This inflexibility persisted despite my explicit requests and previous issues where they had also miscalculated billing accounts, requiring my intervention for correction. Refusal to Return Deposits: Despite my decision to withdraw due to these ongoing issues, the nursery is unwilling to refund the deposit paid at registration. This stance further demonstrates the nursery's rigid adherence to terms that were not transparently communicated at the outset. Promotional Discrepancies: The nursery advertises favorable terms for new registrants—such as no required deposit and a free first week—which were not extended to us at the time of our registration, highlighting inconsistency and unfair practice. Given these challenges, particularly with transparency and flexibility, I have chosen to seek childcare services elsewhere. For those considering St. George's Nursery, I advise securing all terms in writing and thoroughly clarifying financial obligations to avoid unexpected commitments and expenses.

I would think twice about using this setting for your children to be in. I qualified for 15hours funding. They try and charge a top up fee. Mess around with hours, nothing but problems.

St George's nursery made the decision to sell their nursery without informing the parents, and they are now refusing to refund my deposit. Despite the fact that my emails were forwarded to them several times, no contact from head office has been sent, and my calls have gone unanswered. This is unacceptably bad conduct and i would definitely not recommend this nursery to anyone.

I am really not happy with the service that I have been provided at St.Georges and I would think twice about putting your child into this nursery, I am being refused my deposit back even though I followed the correct termination process of my child's place. No communication from head office although my emails were forwarded to them twice. It is not acceptable and their excuse is 'struggling to pay out' that is not my problem. I am also without funds now too and I am sure they are taking funds from the children who are currently attending so therefore can give me my money back which was due in the middle of May! I have no other choice but to leave a bad review and will be telling anyone I know including my friend who enquired about a place not to hand over any money to this nursery for fear of not getting it back. I am truly upset by this whole situation and have recently lost my job so am in need of my deposit back!
