   Been here twice now whilst on holiday in Holmfirth and on both occasions we had excellent meals. First time we sat downstairs, this last visit we chose to eat upstairs in the restaurant. Very attentive and friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Portion sizes are excellent, my husband struggled to finish his main meal which is unheard of. Highly recommended, will definitely return.

   Visited mid-afternoon so it was quiet and wasn’t expecting chef to be ready for action but service was good and food excellent. I had a nice pint of Camden Brewery pale ale and a burger. Hand cut chips were really nice. First visit but would come again and try one of steaks which looked top notch.

   I’ve eaten here several times and if you are looking for somewhere that does a steak, and does it well, then look no further. The menu has a good range of dishes and I’m sure there would be something to suit anyone’s diet with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available. If you are visiting Holmfirth it would be the top of my list of places to go! Attentive and friendly staff with a nice atmosphere in a wonderful setting. What more could you want?

   Delicious steak dinner for 2 with bottle of house red. Chips, coleslaw, salad all home cooked and served perfectly. Great music playing and really friendly attentive staff. Well recommend a visit. Very reasonable price too.

   Really lovely staff. Food was delicious with an amazing amount of choice, even for vegetarians. My partner had the ribs, which was a huge portion, I had the mushroom Wellington, which was really tasty including the veg and gravy.

   Our first time at 1014. A little quiet and not much atmosphere but, most places are quieter than normal in January. Staff were very friendly. Starters were both beautiful, for mains my fillet was slightly over cooked and slightly dry which should never really happen. The chicken chorizo skewers were excellent value. Despite the over cooked steak we would still give it another go in the future.
