Having read a lot of negative reviews, I was worried when our washing machine started leaking. However, when I raised a repair request I was given a date for a few days later. The engineer messaged to say what time he was coming, he quickly identified the issue, which required parts to be ordered. A second engineer came the following week and carried out the repair and got the machine working properly again. Both guys were friendly and efficient and the communication from D&G was excellent. For me the whole experience was easy and hassle free.

Last year week before Christmas broke had to wait till the new year for replacement parts. This year same cooker same parts broken, washing machine broken and again wait till the new year. Family of 6, 4 children under age of 16, on system recorded health issues and still couldnt help. Wait till new year. Washing machine I was told gonna struggle for parts, but decided to order. No replacement, no voucher no contribution of any sort to get us through the Christmas period. All could say at end of call Have A Merry Christmas. Right kick in the teeth.

Got my boiler insured with these guys. They had someone to come out to check it, who stated it’s a problem for the plumber. Called a plumber who said it’s not something for him to fix. Got in touch with D&G who said they’ll get back to Me, 2 days later I had to ring up again myself. They then wanted an invoice from the plumber. After going backwards and forwards with them for a week, my boiler is not fixed. I have no hot water. Will be cancelling with these guys and going elsewhere Do not recommend

My washing machine broke down on 24th November and the first date for a repair was today 3rd December so i took a day off work.. They acknowledged it yesterday and the engineer was coming between 1-4pm - i woke up this morning to a message at 8.10 to tell me it had been cancelled!!!! so a wasted day off work and now they have given me another but not until 10th December!!!! no explanation and no one to contact to speak to only digitally which was no good to me. why cant D&G have a call centre to at least put a human touch to customers needs - highly unsatisfactory and i pay for at least 5 items in my household. not good enough D&G a telephone call to discuss would be appreciated.

Had a repair booked, engineer came round, trashed two rooms and the patio, took upon himself to use our best towels to clean out the inside of the washing machine and left the machine broken. Complained to Domestic and General and was told they would get back once they had chance to see the engineers notes. Chased them up today they had no knowledge of our complaint, actually asked if our machine was still working. Told us that they accept no responsibility and we would have to chase the engineer ourselves. Absolute shocking service and no concern for any of their customers. It's companies like this that we need ombudsman to protect the public from. Additional, we took Fiona up on her offer and were told not to contact that email by a man called Richard! Once again you pretend to care about customer service in public yet clearly don't practice what you preach.

Apparently there is nothing wrong with my dryer.... even though it literally only stays on for 30 seconds in this video! Been repaired so many times and still doesn't work. Can't have a replacement because it's not been repaired 3 times in a month! You've been out 3 times in one month though and it's still not fixed! 27th Feb where you needed to order parts, 6th March to fit said parts and then 14th March coz it was cutting out, just to be told that the new parts need wearing in.... the dryer stays on sometimes for literally 30 seconds!!!!

Must admit have used them in the past and had good service. However they love to pass you on and not deal with the problem. Phoned up to book a repair such a rude lady had her twice. Then again not great service. However the sales team are amazing polite nice maybe switch up your team because the repairs team are rude and don’t have a clue.

AVOID This company should not be allowed to trade. The 1.9 out of 5 stars should be enough to get alarm bells ringing when making a decision in choosing Domestic & General. Awful, undertrained staff with no customer service skills. False promises, mixed messages, calls cut off mid conversation. They don't get back to you when they claim they will. They use very trick in to book to avoid paying out or replacing defective appliances. I have never felt the need to use The Financial Ombudsman or Citizens Advice, but I am now going through this process. AVOID

We have held D&G plans for many years, and always had a great experience. But in the last couple of years, their customer service has gone downhill loads. Sometimes you have to spend ages ringing up (for repairs), and end up being bounced around different departments. Dealing with D&G is much harder nowadays. As a result, we cancelled our policies with them. They then opted us into marketing without our consent, and started sending us marketing letters and making marketing calls. They carried on marketing to us even after updating our marketing preferences. One of their letters also looks like a debt collection letter, but it's actually purely a marketing letter (for an expired/cancelled policy). This company are going downhill quickly in my opinion.
