   Went to Bistro 8 for the first time tonight as a party of 20 for my 40th birthday.I chose here because my sister had been before and the food looked lovely. I felt like from the minute we arrived we were rushed and I feel like the waitress constantly seemed in a bad mood and impatient. Even when my birthday cake was brought out they rushed it away before I could take some pictures with it. We were asked if we wanted the bill at 9pm even though we clearly weren’t ready to leave and when we asked what time they closed we were told 10pm and they had no further people booked in. Considering how much money we would have spent there I would have expected a better experience. Most of our party had said they wouldn’t go back due to how we were treated tonight. Such a shame. The venue was lovely and food was good.

   I have visited Bistro 8 many times and food as been good. We went yesterday for afternoon tea for a special occasion and in our opinion it was overpriced for what we received. I rarely write reviews but from our disappointment I don't want others to spend £64 for 2 people, it's alot of money to waste. No tea lists for afternoon tea only breakfast tea on offer. Bare minimum I believe there should be a selection of teas to choose from. After paying a deposit and confirming our booking there should have been brown bread sandwiches and not just white bread served up on their steak sharing boards and not equal quantities, very strange. I understand maybe it's Bistro 8 intention to be modern and not traditional but in our opinion it doesn't work. After emailing privately and the responses I have received back from Ryan I don't think customer service is a priority for Bistro 8 but money is the key goal.

   What a beautiful little place, it was a hot day and they had air conditioning. Me and my friends went for a evening food and drinks. The service was fantastic and we all had a main and dessert and even for the price the quality of food was excellent and size portion was good. Would definitely would come back again and recommend to anyone

   Went for a special occasion. Our table wasn't the best next to the stairs, we were not too bothered until a real fire was lit downstairs and the smoke came up the stairs, quite strong . Our clothes stunk of smoke and we needed a shower when we got home. Chairs seemed a little too small for me to eat properly, like I was sat on a child's seat. My food was excellent, burger was really tasty, coleslaw was lovely. Not sure about it being served on the wood. Not much room to cut etc. Partners burger was cold, mine had steam coming out of it. Not a good choice of real ale type drinks. Perhaps bottles of something if unable to be on tap. Atmosphere was not great, main light upstairs was quite bright, not very intimate really and it was quite loud. I would always support local business so would encourage you to try it, I think they are trying to offer something different which should always be applauded. Staff were lovely.Prob caught them on a bad night. would try to pick a table away from stairs, fires and main light next time for a better experience.

   What a lovely restaurant! Staff was very polite and the atmosphere was just so welcoming we didn't want to leave. Food was standard and decent prices. The photos on their Facebook page are alot better than what the food come out like. But overall brilliant experience will be coming again.

   Great experience on this occasion. Good choice of food and drinks. Adequate portion sizes and didn't have to wait too long. Staff were helpful. Parking is opposite and you have to enter your reg' no' in the bistro.
