Dr Neil Kitchiner provides an exceptional service. Would highly recommend him for CBT and EMDR. Dr Kitchiner has a very calm and supportive approach to therapies which can be tailored to each trauma or event in which you take to your sessions . He’s a credit to the mental health service. Thank you Dr Kitchiner.

My CBT journey with Neil has been transformative. His approach to my therapy was an excellent blend of professionalism and genuine compassion. I felt a genuine sense of security as he created a safe non-judgemental space for me to talk about my trauma. EMDR has been a massive part of my journey, it allowed me to safely retrieve and reinterpret painful memories so I was able to process and heal a deep psychological wound. After every session I felt empowered by and at peace with my emotions and experienced a true sense of relief. He taught me other vital tools to use whenever I need to get through set backs which I will take through life with me. I have noticed a significant improvement in my mental health and my life has changed for the better. I’d recommend the service to anyone who feels they need it, and would not hesitate to go back should I need to in the future. Thank you Dr NK.

I undertook CBT and EMDR treatment with Neil due to the adverse psychological affects of PTSD. Neil was highly professional and prompt in his communication. Neil also showed great compassion, empathy and understanding of my condition and also involved me in decisions related to my treatment. Neil is an Excellent therapist, with expert knowledge of conditions, the effects these have on patients, but also on the treatment and delivery of treatment to best support his patients. Neil helped me through a very difficult time, and I would highly recommend him. He really helped me.

I was referred to CBT Cardiff after a very dramatic car crash which left me with life changing injury's and severe PTSD. I met Neil , who explained what was happing to me , And talked me through how he could help me recover from the dark place I was at. And giving me the tools i needed to put in place before we started i wasn't sure I believed him at the time , But he seemed kind and genuine, So i gave it a go, my mood lifted after the first treatment . and i slowly recovered. My car anxiety took a little longer But I'm Million times better Thanks to Neil , I HIGHLY RECOMEND his program , and have passed his tips for coping during stressful advents to friends and family.

I was referred to CBT Cardiff after suffering from mild PTSD following a fatal car crash. From the very first session, Neil explained thoroughly what the programme would consist of, as well as the modern techniques he uses to treat PSTD. Each session was well structured, and was a calm and relaxing environment to be in. Following on from my sessions with Neil, I am now a fully confident driver, and passenger, again; and have had no traumatic flashbacks of the event since. I would fully recommend the programme to anyone who has been through a likewise situation, in order to regain full confidence on the roads.

EMDR went well my flashbacks and intrusive images reduced a lot. ( would have given 4 or 5 stars) when treatment was coming to an end I was pushed into a treatment I was clear I didn’t want to do and feared would break me. I trusted my therapist. I returned suicidal for the first time in my life and my therapist was indifferent, unhelpful, condescending and ended treatment. After months of no sleep pattern, constant crisis and relying on the Samaratians everyday. I saw an EMDR therapist as a last resort who saved my life from the retraumazing Neil caused me. Over a year now I’m still destroyed. Neils ego and negligence nearly took my life and has taken two years of my life trying to recover from battling suicide and self harm. Something I never thought I’d have to go through, and the physical toll it’s taken on body. I have spent Β£100s on therapy recovering, when I’m reminded I still can’t cope. And anger a trauma therapist is responsible. I wish I never met him and trusted him!

Amazing therapy, I am recovering from PTSD, I am starting to visualise my life the way I want it to be as opposed to not wanting to be here at all. Worked together as a team, had times where I thought I would be stuck with chronic PTSD. I am releasing the cause of the disease as opposed to managing the effect. I would highly recommend this practice, it is giving me my life back, more than I could ever have imagined!
