   My Dogs Love it here. The team are so friendly and great with my dogs. One of mine can be very difficult to handle with new people and in situations she finds stressful, they have taken the time to get to know both dogs and settle them in. I visited a lot of kennels before picking which one to send them to and found hazel corner to be the best ones by far. The kennels are clean and they have a lot of outside space for the dogs not to mention the experience they have in handling and caring for the dogs. I would highly recommend them.

   We went up to visit the kennels to have a look around but was told we needed to make an appointment. Their website stated you can visit anytime within their opening hours. They are also not taking any more bookings for the time being as they are short staffed. This is also not on their website which would have saved us a journey!!! Gave 2* because the staff member was polite.

   Left my dog for two one-night stay at Hazel Corner. Was asked how she did upon pickup, and no one able to tell us. When I tried to book her in again 4 weeks later, I was told they wouldn't accept my dog any longer as she was too upset during her previous stay. Frustrated I was only told this a month later, I phoned Hazel Corner for an explanation of why my dog was so upset in their care. I was told they don't tell the owners how the dog behaved in the kennel as they "are not dog behaviorist" (not sure why telling me how my dog did in your care would make you a dog behaviorist?). Then she told me the "conversation was pointless" because they wouldn't take my dog anymore and she hung up on me. Really disgraceful, especially for a family run business. I now board my dog at a facility in Tring where they actually walk her and tell us if our dog was happy or not during her stay!

   When I visited the kennels beforehand I was very impressed with the cleanliness and how homely the kennels looked plus my interaction with the staff was very positive. Unfortunately I was not so impressed when I collected my dog. While I was waiting for him I asked how he had got along, only to be told I don’t know! When I received him although he was clean he smelt rancid, like he had slept in his own food for 10 days and his bedding was heavily soiled. When we returned home he was very withdrawn and extremely dehydrated as his urine was orange and smelt very strong At the time he was only 6 months old!

   Our two little ones have been holiday guests at Hazel Corner for a number of years and we always go away knowing that they are well cared for. How do we know? - their tails positively wag with happiness when they see the staff! Excellent people who obviously care about the dogs, and very good facilities too.
