Our rescue dog LOVES her stays at Haytor. She sulks when she has to come home and leave all her friends behind. The care she gets is brilliant and photos are posted periodically during stays. The latest visit she had such a smile on her face in one photo

Milo was very happy going into the kennels and I emailed to check how he was settling in while we were away and got a prompt reply along with photos, which was a nice touch. I would definitely book again and I like how the dogs get to mix with other dogs during their stay.

Came for a viewing beforehand and I honestly wasn’t too sure, mainly with the length of time they’re alone overnight without access to outside - it seems like this might be standard practice in kennels though. BUT, it seems like he had a good time. It was my first time boarding my 8.5 year old dog (he’s done daycare and stayed overnight with sitters, just not kennels before). He ate his food which was a surprise, but a good sign. I chose Haytor because of the ability for him to play with other dogs. My dog is nervous with new people, but he gains confidence around other dogs. The drop off felt quite like I was being rushed a bit, but this could just be because they’re aiming to spend as much time as possible with the dogs. It would be great to see photos of them whilst there, through Instagram stories for example (although it seems super busy so that might not be possible). I emailed to check on him in the afternoon and got a response the following morning, which was fine. An option to drop off at the daycare time, if your dog is social, would be great too instead of just 10-12 or 2-5! Especially on a Saturday overnight as you do end up paying for two days for around 24 hours as there are no afternoon pickups on a Sunday, so a single sat to sun overnight comes out quite expensive that way, though I understand different kennels have different booking setups. Overall, my dog came back happy, he ate and although very glad to see me, didn’t seem too bothered by his stay. Would recommend to anyone who feels their dog would benefit in a kennel environment from having other dogs around them! Will use Haytor kennels again for my dog. Thanks for taking care of my boy! :)

I booked my dog in for an overnight stay at Haytor Kennels because my usual kennels were full on that date. I was impressed by their efficiency in emailing the confirmation of booking and other relevant information to me straight away. When I arrived, the lady who greeted me checked my dog's vaccination certificates and enquired about my dog's likes and dislikes regarding playing with other dogs. She seemed to have a good rapport with dogs, as did the man who I collected my pet from the following day. I felt confident leaving my dog here and would be happy to do so again.

My two cats have been staying at Haytor kennels regularly for many years. They always come back looking in great condition and very happy. The staff are lovely, friendly and knowledgeable, and always make such a fuss of the cats on arrival. We are so lucky to have such a great kennels nearby.

Always feel safe leaving my dog here. Such lovely friendly staff who really seem to care for the animals. Riley always goes in with a waggy tail. Thank you to all who looked after him on his recent stay.

I can't even begin to thank Haytors Kennels enough for looking after our cat, Sidney. We moved to Singapore last month, but due to Covid restrictions and quarantine, we were unable to take him with us. It broke our hearts to leave him behind. However, as soon as we dropped Sidney off at Haytors, we knew he was in good hands. Ian and the team kept in contact with us regularly, letting us know how Sidney was getting on and sending us some photos. Initially, Sidney wasn't eating or going to the toilet (he is a sensitive boy, and doesn't like change!) and the team were great at monitoring him closely, getting a vet to check him over and making sure he was ok (they even went to buy his favourite food, treats and toys)! He was so incredibly well looked after by all of the staff. We are so happy that we chose Haytors Kennels to look after our cat when we couldn't! Sidney arrived in Singapore a very happy, healthy and content cat. A massive thank you to everyone at Haytors for looking after our boy so well. He misses you all already!

Before I found Haytor, I was struggling to find a solution to my doggy day care issues because of Ruby's problems mixing with other dogs, but the staff here have been amazing. They are genuinely caring and understand her temperament. She always comes home exhausted and sometimes gives a more enthusiastic 'goodbye' to the staff than she does a 'hello' to me at the end of the day! I would have no hesitation in recommending Haytor Kennels to others.
