   A group of 3 of us had dinner here last night but we were a bit disappointed. To start we ordered two margaritas on the rocks - one spicy and one regular. Despite acknowledging this, the drinks still arrived without ice so I sent them back. The drinks came back but by that point the staff couldn’t remember which was spicy and which wasn’t so we ended up with the wrong drinks. When we ordered our starters we simply enquired whether the burrata was good, and next minute received the burrata instead of what we actually ordered. Aside from this, I found the food to be very overrated and overpriced. We had to ask for the bill twice and where we were sat felt like we were in the smoking room - I was breathing in cigarette fumes the entire meal. Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back.

   I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided at The Garden House. My wedding reception was marred by a severe food poisoning incident, over charges and a lack of communication despite numerous emails sent to the events team in the weeks leading up to our wedding. Furthermore, I felt my concerns were not adequately addressed which I have still not received even an apology over a month later. If you have an issue, it is unlikely that you will receive a prompt response. The time to expect a response from any staff member and even the general manager of Beaverbrook can be several weeks, despite the urgency. The events team requested all dietary requirements a week prior to our wedding reception at Beaverbrook. Despite this and the waiters during the day, one of my family members who is already unwell and going through ongoing treatment experienced an allergic reaction. I had to email the morning after (which you can imagine is the last thing I should have been doing) to confirm the ingredients which took over two weeks to receive a response. The response appeared to be a cover-up and did not prioritise the health of any customer. Seems no ingredient matrix’s are in place at Beaverbrooks after several requests for a copy to be sent to be. Not sure why, unless they have something to hide. Which in the end I just received a list of ingredients which confirmed an allergic reaction did take place. I can go on but only have a set amount of characters I am able to put, if I were you do not go to Beaverbrook - The Garden House in particular. I hopeful that my review will actually get a sufficient apology and an actual response to my latest email to the general manager.

She wasn’t just a host—she made us feel genuinely welcomed, like we were guests in her own space. She had a calm, friendly presence, always around when needed but never overbearing. Her recommendations felt thoughtful and spot-on, and the way she carried herself added something human and memorable to the whole evening.

   This restaurant is amazing. The staff are ALL superb. Their skill is clear and their empathy and kindness is exceptional. We went here for my Mum's 93rd Birthday they could not have gone out of their way more to make the occasion special. The food is totally excellent and worth every penny. Jemima our waitress was brilliant. The hostess Annabel was the best we have ever seen. She was totally " on " everything that was happening in the whole restaurant. Josh the manager was empathetic and impressive. The venue is unbeatable. Choose this restaurant for the special things and the every day events and they will make everything special.

   We stayed with our dog and this was the only covered eating option for us . The greenhouse incredibly noisy and was full of screaming children which the few staff that were available tried to placate. Relaxing environment it was not. All the restaurant manager could do was apologize
