   They have a bad review on trip advisor that initially put me up ff a bit, but i was there so thought I'd just give them a chance and judge for myself, my first impression was really good, the restaurant area was clean and well presented with beautiful real flowers growing all around the area, lovely pictures of waterfalls and pictures of cartoon style fish, also a fish tank in the corner with some well looked after fish inside. Was greeted by a very friendly gentleman, I ordered myself some fish and chips. Wasn't a long wait at all, although I'm never in a rush and appreciate when more time is taken to get a better product. Although I must say that the chips were very nice, not greasy at all and obviously fresh, same for the fish, was very tasty fish and really nicely battered. I had absolutely nothing to complain about and I highly recommend that people do give the place a go and try not to look into someones bad reviews on trip advisor, they are obviously not very great themselves making horrible comments, we are all just human. So I hope more people ignore these bad reviews as I did and I'm pretty sure you will be leaving some positive ones. The gentleman behind the bar was very polite and very professional in my eyes.

   this fish and chip shop is the worst I’ve ever been to. It’s definitely worth going down into Westbury-on-Trym. They leave horrible skin all over the fish and they caught it so many times in batter. There’s literally no fish left really and that’s not even to mention their chips which are usually absolutely rank black old just everything about this is awful and also the fact they will take cash only we just wonder what’s going on behind the scenes here?

   Absolutely terrible. In a mirror experience of a very recent reviewer, they rather suspiciously insisted it was cash only, only to pull out the card machine when pushed. This would be fine if the food wasn't absolutely awful. Our chips were dry and hard, tasted like they were cooked hours ago (lazy staff), my chicken nuggets were of the frozen cardboard variety and the battered fish was soggy and tasted poor quality. When asked about the owners, it was clear they were not around and employed foreign staff were running the place, hence the terrible standards. No pride taken in their food which is sad given the historically high quality establishment here under the previous owners. £17 never tasted so disappointing.

   Walked from Clifton to try here this Friday lunchtime and was not disappointed........Ordered a large fish and large chips with gravy to share.................It was cooked to order in less than 10 minutes and was just perfectly cooked;. The batter was crispy, the fish so fresh and the chips really hit the spot and the two us couldn't manage the lot....The gravy was really thick and tasty too, Albie was most obliging, even placing the order on a handy carry out tray for us......The glass covered frontage eating area was very cosy on a zero degree day......... A few regulars came and went as we were enjoying....we'll be back too..........

   fish was well overcooked and batter was rock hard, also service with a smile changed when i tried to pay by card, told to go to garage as they had a cash machine but when i didn't they actually accepted my card.

   Used Deliveroo for first and last time. The price of Cod did not include chips and when I rang Henleaze refused to add. Fish tasty but extortionate as well as Curry Sauce. £17.93 for small fish and small container of curry sauce.Never Again.

   Bought haddock and chips here on Friday and was extremely disappointed with the fish size! £7 something for two tiny pieces. But the worst thing about the meal was the foul ammonia/peroxide taste of the fish. Really horrible. 2 stars because the chips saved the extortionate amount.. somewhat. Wont be coming here again.
