Adrian went above and beyond we had some very certain request and he was so happy to accommodate them, he always had a story and was just one of if not the best server I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Honestly if more people were like him the world would be a better place. Plus lovely location and lake.
Adrian is an absolute delight — charming, funny, and genuinely wonderful. The service was superb, both during my visit on 23/12 and previously when I came for lunch in December with a supplier. He is attentive and brings an infectious energy that truly lifts the experience — I love it. Thank you, Adrian, and please continue being you with your lovely vibes. You are a real credit to The Wire Mill, which is a stunning pub offering fantastic food and delicious drinks.
Serena and Neal were lovely and friendly. The attention to detail was great. In my party, we had a guest with an intolerance and they took extra care to ensure no cross contamination. The venue is really nice and welcoming, located next to a lake. There were several options to cover dietary requirements, each very tasty and well presented.
Amazing experience for our friend’s birthday lunch. The food was delicious with lots of vegan options and the staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming. Fallon in particular was a wonderful host and made sure we were really well looked after. Would definitely recommend visiting if you’re looking for a genuinely warm and special environment ❤️
Delicious. I met up with family over from New Zealand, and I’m so glad we picked here. Nice atmosphere and friendly welcome. All of us were very happy with our food (and drinks), and as I’m plant based (vegan) it made a really nice change to have a lot of choice. I tried the crispy pulled mushroom bagel with fries and loved it - would have it again. Good texture and flavours. If I’m ever in the area again, I’d definitely return, and would try all the other vegan offerings. Very happy :)
The view from the tables outside across the lake in the lovely sunshine is glorious. If you are here for drinks and a catch up with friends or family then wonderful. However... The food is adequate at best. We were a table of 5 with 4 roast dinners and a fish and chips and you are better going to a carvery than here. Every item on our plates was average and certainly not worth the prices they are charging. The fish and chips looked like something you would get at a spoons but with less chips. The desserts were good though. The service was very good with very attentive staff. I would not come again for food but possibly for drinks and only if I could sit outside.
We ate here today. Food was super hot, fresh and exquisitely tasty. The team are friendly, the service and pace delightful. The setting is beautiful. We can’t wait to go back in the warmer drier months. But don’t miss out on the cosiness you feel in there even now in wet December !
Nice pub/restaurant. We were sat in the pub with no lake view, it is quite crowded with tables and next to the kitchen door which bangs shut all the time. I think a table up the top of the restaurant would be a different atmosphere. Food was good but too much fat on the beef, some people like it, we didn't. Other than that the roast was lovely.
Myself and my family ate here recently for dinner. Needless to say we were very disappointed in the service and food we received. The waitress serving us was very abrupt and her tone of voice condescending and snarky when we were ordering. When the food came out some what 45 minutes later, my partners meal cod with noodles had no flavour whatsoever. Likewise with my dads meal. We spent over £200 between us as a family and agreed that we would pay £10 as a service charge instead of £25 that was added to the bill due to our experience. When paying, the snarky waitress demanded that we pay the extra £15 before we left. We paid it but will not be returning here. It was such a shame as the place has a lovely atmosphere and previous experiences were lovely.
If there were a -⭐️ then I'd chose that, short of that, I will give one ⭐️! First a d the last time I will ever go to this place again. Reasons?: 1- Services: as me and my wife entered, no one directed us to a table. When we sat, the table was as filthy one could imagine, I'd havr to get my jacket cleaned!!! 2- When asked for a glass of wine to start, when it arrived the outside of them glass had more wine then the inside... not even doilies. 3- Starters; one little olives so small I needed a microscope to see them... !!! 4- all the servers (5 of them around my table) but I had to go pick up my drinks off the bar, since I was waiting for someone to bring g them to us for easily 5 min.. 5- Ordered a fish n chips and a burger, I would not even feed them to my dogs, let alone ... the oil in which it was fried in was so burnt that as soon as we came back home my wife was sick! All the way from SM2 area to this place for that kind of "services ? I am a chef, and know when the food is high quality! This was far from it!!! I paid £100.46 , 10% service charge for that ??? If you have any decency, then you would refund the money at the very least!!! Never again !!! The only good part of it was the view of the lake, and that was part of nature, free of charge!
