Have been using Carshalton Boilers for 20 years to service my boilers and have always been happy. They recently fitted a replacement gas boiler and radiators, a new smart system and did a few other plumbing jobs. Very happy with the quality of the fitting and also the care they took while working in every room of the house. Will continue to use them in the future.
They fitted a new boiler, a surround to bring the boiler forward for easy access and removed the old water tank for my 90 year old parents. They did this with minimal disruption to my parents over the course of three days. Routing of new pipework was done sympathetically to the existing decoration and left in a very neat and tidy state. Care and workmanship was excellent. Quote and costs very reasonable and my parents are very happy. Thanks a million.
Mixed experience – would look elsewhere next time Carshalton Boilers installed a new boiler for me in 2017. The installation itself was fine, but there were a few issues that left me disappointed overall. For starters, they didn’t dispose of the old boiler—they just left it outside, and I eventually had to pay someone else to remove it. Their contract states they are still owed full payment even if they don’t remove the old one in a timely way, which felt a bit unreasonable. The boiler worked okay, but over time the Magnaclean they installed began to leak. They also serviced the system for a while, but I later had a pipe burst and was told by another engineer that a PVC pipe had been incorrectly used in a place it shouldn’t have been. I gave them another chance more recently after moving house, as my usual plumber had closed down. They came out to assess the boiler in my new home, but said due to its location they wouldn’t service it. Fair enough, but they still charged £100 for essentially a five-minute visit, which felt cheeky and left a bad taste. In short, when they do the work, it’s acceptable—but I’ve since found better, more reliable plumbers. What really cemented my decision not to use them again was when they called me after I left an earlier review and were quite rude and combative over the phone. Not the kind of attitude you expect when offering honest feedback.
We are based in London SW8 and have used Carshalton Boiler Services Ltd. for all our boiler servicing over the last five years, The engineers sent are always super professional and knowledgeable.
I called Carshalton Boilers for a quote on a maintenance contract, I explained to them the brand and model of the boiler and the age, they gave me a price of £275 and we arranged for an engineer to survey the boiler and radiators. The engineer took the boiler apart and could not see any issues and even commented on how good it was, likewise the radiators and valves also passed. When the engineer called the office he was told that they would not put me on a maintenance contract as the boiler was too old but now I would have to pay the boiler service/survey cost of £108 what a nifty way to make money, why did they give me a quote despite the fact that I had told them the age of the boiler in addition to the fact that the engineer could not see any issue with it. What a way to entice people then rip them off. Stay well clear
Carshalton Boilers have once again provided a fantastic service. A seal went on the boiler, so the boiler had to be shut down. The part was ordered immediately, and Leigh the engineer came back 2 days later. Fitted the part and got us up and running again. I have used Carshalton Boilers for over 40 years, they have never let me down. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Consistent, honest and reliable. A pleasure to do business with them
They have today been to service my elderly parents boiler and condemned it without giving them any information or support. They are now left on a freezing cold night with no hot water or heating and they are understandably very concerned as to what happens from here. They serviced the boiler less than 12 months ago with no mention of any issues. The customer service and empathy has been disgusting and I will be certainly be looking for a second opinion. When we got the boiler company out the next day they said it hadn’t been serviced properly for years and they shouldn’t have condemned it as it just needed a part. Avoid at all costs these people are just scamming people who don’t know better.
As a company we found them very helpful and reasonably priced. We had a gas leak in a feed pipe buried in a concrete floor which was not repairable. A replacement pipe was installed above ground very neatly. Darren who was the engineer that did the installation was polite, helpful, tidy and did a very good job. All in all we would use them again.
