Just had a quite upsetting experience here. I’d been in previously to explain that I had a bag full of jewellery that I wanted to sell, and a couple of pieces I wanted to have fixed. The chap looked at some of it but said I should pop back to see his colleague who was better placed to help. I just went back in as advised and the second guy was fantastically rude. I explained why I was there and he looked at my bag and said, “It just looks like a load of old silver”. Everything was either in boxes or in bags within the bag so unless he has x ray vision I don’t know what led him to say that. As it happens, the jewellery I’m trying to sell ranges from a Rolex to various pieces containing diamonds, sapphires, rubies, some dating back to the 1960s, all had belonged to my nana or mother, some really nice stuff in there, not that I bothered tell him that because he then said they only buy at metal value, which is fair though, so I said no problem, perhaps you could just help me with the pieces I need fixing in that case. I got out an opal ring that is very precious to me and he said, “There’s no ring on it”. (I know, that’s because it had to be cut off my mum’s hand when she was in intensive care). I said I know, can you fix it? He said opal doesn’t respond very well to heat - fair enough, so I asked was there a way of turning the opal into a necklace or something instead - then he just went on very disparagingly about how the opal was worn, and that they were closing soon so they weren’t doing bespoke jewellery any more, at which point I started putting everything away, fed up with his rudeness. I was trying to pack away and get out of the shop but he pointed to a pair of earrings snd said something rude about those too. I couldn’t care less if he doesn’t have the time or interest in buying / repairing my jewellery, plenty of other places to go to, but his (wrong) assumptions about the quality of jewellery in my bag and his rudeness about the pieces I wanted to mend were so unnecessary. Anybody in the jewellery business must understand how much sentiment is attached to pieces sometimes, and how much hurt can be caused by saying disparaging comments about them. Incidentally, the original guy I spoke to was there and didn’t once acknowledge me or say, “Yes, this lady has been in and I said you’d be able to help, my mistake, sorry to waste your time etc”. Really, really disappointing behaviour.

Took in a bracelet that my eldest son had bought for his Mum's birthday which was slightly too small. A brilliant job done to make extra links to make it larger. Thanks a lot for excellent service at a reasonable price. 5 stars all round

The best jewellers in Maldon. We took an engagement ring in for a consultation and received a stunning ring not long later! It has been reset on a new band with a new setting and is beautiful! Extremely professional service, would highly recommend and will be returning! Cheers

Found this company online but goodness what a find! Very knowledgeable, helpful and a great company to deal with. They restored some jewellery for me in particular an old family piece of an oyster design pendant. Very happy, thanks Glenn

I cannot thank the chaps enough for making a fantastic job of copying a cross design my wife had bought as costume Jewellery. The finished item was perfect and unique. I was struggling to find a jeweller to make this item but as soon as I spoke to Glenn nothing was a problem.

Wonderful redesign of wedding ring and engagement ring which had to be cut off my finger , together with earrings that I didn’t wear. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome. I can’t thank Glenn andPeter enough for their patience and skills.
