First off, this accommodation is one of two cottages on a former farm. It's also on the Somerset Levels, so those expecting an urban experience should look elsewhere. We booked this accommodation since we were visiting family nearby. When we visit again, Burnt House will definitely be on our speed dial. The cottage is clean and evidently the result of a recent build/remodel. It's within 1/3 miles of two village pubs.... if you do a search in Google Maps you'll see how few and far between pubs are in this general area. The closest pub (The White Horse) has excellent food.

Well where do I start !. Lady was rude to my partner when asked about pool even before we arrived . could we use as it was advertised. . oh they don't have pool to use insurance was excuse but was told on arrival it hasn't been used in 15 YEARS and we were the 4th person. Who asked this .. WHY ADVERTISE if not available. Pictures need removing !! Room tired and smelt stale no wardrobe and rules stuck to desk no crisps no takeaways .. breakfast £10 pp .. when we thought it was included .. but apparently that * room was cheaper thats why no breakfast . not shown in Booking or different rooms different rates . Our * bathroom end of hall not ensuite .. carpeted bathroom, ironing board in corner . Sat on bed it creaked badly .centre lampshade dirty . Drawers needed a wipe ... just generally tired and needs a makeover n clean . When we asked when if wanted breakfast does she need to know. We were told now ! OK. We decided then to leave. When outside and said it's not for us we leaving . Had a mumble under breath and they walked off forcing us to leave keys on outside table then a call you have taken keys if you dont return them we will charge you ! Not a reply when we clarified where we left them or a sorry you were miss led re website ! We have stayed in quaint/quirky places on airbnb and enjoyed those so bnb we thought great especially with a pool . And farm and dont mind old and quaint but old and tired and rudeness .. not a good thing . Have had bread ,brownies wine milk .. etc left for us in previous places over and above .. but this nothing to make you feel your welcome .. not expecting this in bnb but a warm welcome and breakfast.. tbf even a coffee amd croissant if (**cheap room ) would been ok !! . This needs to be visited by websites advertising . As previous visitors also mention brusk.. controlling and unfriendly people .tired place and not accommodating to guests. ..stay in travel.lodge premier inn or ibis nearby for same price . Better rooms and you know what you getting .

This should be an excellent place to stay... The location is great and the accommodations perfectly adequate. What brings it down is the attitude of the owners. Only go here if you're looking for the Basil Fawlty experience.

when we finally made contact with the owner, she was abrupt and rude, we only needed a room for 1 night after a long cycle and we hadn't checked in on time. Poor attitude for someone in the service industry! managed to find another place to stay even at late notice.

Just got back from 2 nights at the B&B. We had 2 rooms booked, a single and a family room. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The owners made it feel like a home from home and we’re very accommodating. The location was good and it was easy to find. The breakfast was well prepared. Thank you S&C, we will be back soon.

Stayed here for one night, and found it delightful. The owners are charming, as is the property. The room was huge, bed extremely comfortable, and had a great nights sleep...so quiet. We arrived quite late, in a horsebox, and this was not a problem. We were given a torch to head out across the field to the recommended pub - the Pack Horse - for dinner, which was excellent. Breakfast was very satisfactory, we had a lovely chat with Carmen and Steve, and their animals! Would definitely stay there again.
