Had a gorgeous stay for my birthday last month. Milan and the team go above and beyond to ensure you have an experience to remember. We had a huge room, with patio access to enjoy our morning coffee. Concierge are super attentive, and breakfast has a large range of options. Will be back!

Oh dear- booked a table at the American Bar for drinks, treated like something off the bottom of the concierge’s shoe. We were half an hour early for our booking and told to push off. Restaurant and bar totally empty but wouldn’t allow us to sit and have an aperitif while we waited for our friend. Worst service I’ve experienced in a so called top class hotel in London. ****Edit*** After my partner and I both put in negative reviews the MD responded with probably the greatest comeback ever. John invited us into the hotel for a meeting to discuss what had gone wrong and over a drink listened to what we had to say. This is a guy they really cares and it shows, we even ended up having a tour of the fabulous wine cellars. The Stafford- rightly back on top because of some lovely people who work there. 10/10

We visit London approximately once a year from Australia as my daughter is currently living there. This was the first time we have stayed at the Stafford. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room, in the Carriage house was comfortable. Our dinner in the restaurant, Michael Staines at The Stafford, was memorable, and the scones made to order at afternoon tea, were absolutely delicious. What we loved the most was the location, absolutely brilliant, close to Green Park Tube, Piccadilly, Bond street, Pall Mall. We were able to walk virtually everywhere we wanted to go. On the downside, we had to walk out the main hotel building, across a courtyard, up some open air stairs and along an open air corridor to reach our room. In cold wet weather, ( we were lucky with the weather this time ) this would have been very unpleasant. The hotel seemed to cater to outside guests and on a couple of mornings, we had to wait quite some time to have breakfast. Similarly, when we wanted to have some afternoon tea, on a number of occasions we were simply told there was no room. This hotel has so many positives, but the staff often seemed hassled and stressed, and consequently we didn’t feel welcome and valued as in-house guests.

Rooms are beautiful, but management isn't responsible for beautiful rooms, they've been this way for decades. Staff and management and service are very poor here. Every single front desk employee has a thick foreign accent, and it's hard to understand them. At an establishment like The Stafford, I struggled to understand why they're not hiring English people? In addition, my family and I were asked to sit and wait an hour (seriously) on a Saturday morning before we could be served breakfast. As guests of the hotels we couldn't sit at breakfast (which we had paid for), for an hour, because they're way understaffed, and current employees are lazy. One lady told us they were too busy yet there was 5 empty tables (and clean tables), where no one was seating. We won't be coming back here: newspapers not delivered to our room, the breakfast was seriously poor quality, and during dinner there was a 25+ minutes wait between each course. This place is going downhill.

I travel a lot and there’s nothing like The Stafford. The service is world class, the food is top notch, and the accommodations are gorgeous but unpretentious. It was close to everything so we were able to walk to all the attractions in Central London. The hotel was tucked away on a quiet street so we were able to get a good night’s sleep after a busy day of sightseeing. I recommend the breakfast and Sunday Roast and be sure to have a drink at the American Bar. The wait staff is so friendly and made each meal magical.

Stopped by the Stafford for a drink and lunch with my wife and father and law to repeat a tradition passed down from my dad who has been going to the Stafford for many years. We were really impressed by the service and staff and how well they accommodated our small sleeping baby in a stroller. Great experience, great service - highly recommend the restaurant and American Bar.

Was here for the afternoon tea. The service was great - they opened the doors for us, they took our jackets etc. We felt well treated. The place was also very nice - calm, classic interior with luxury details. However, don't expect any culinary experience. None of the items on the afternoon tea was good. The only thing I enjoyed was the tea. We tried the dessert, but it was then left untouched.

We had afternoon tea here for my Mother's 80th birthday along with other family members. It was totally perfect. Very few tables so it was nice and quiet. Efficient and friendly staff. Lovely food and tea. Really delightful and perfect in every way. My Mother loved it!

Incredible service from check-in to check out! Special shout-out to housekeeping, my favorite bartender Ricardo and waitstaff all 10’s! Rooms were excellently appointed and every detail down to my morning paper and coffee attended to. Oh how I have missed you in Paris! Ha! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

When looking for a place to stay in London(our first time here), of course we wanted the best. We had only 1 night in London and wanted to make the most of it. The location of The Stafford was close to everything we wanted to see and do while here. We arrived just before noon. There was no wait, we wanted to drop our bags and explore the city before our evening dinner reservations. The lady in the front checked us in with ease. She said our room was already ready, a seemingly great start. I specifically booked a “Carriage House Deluxe King Room.” As she is walking us to our room, she says “you’re in luck, you’re getting an upgrade.” Which sounds great, but it would’ve been nice if she told us at the front desk. I was caught off guard so I didn’t say anything. She brings us to a room across from the carriage house in the main house, 1st floor. But when you get into the room, there are stairs going down so you’re almost just in a basement. The suite was spacious, more room than we honestly needed. It seemed outdated and just okay. It lacked natural light and a view. Overall was not impressed. I didn’t make a stink about it because we were eager to just explore the city anyway and not have to worry about the room. Another thing was someone walked into our room without knocking and didn’t announce themselves. It was very odd and again, I didn’t bring it up at the time. The staff seemed unapproachable, so we honestly just scratched our heads in confusion. Hindsight, I should have said something. I was already uncomfortable with our stay there so I didn’t see a point in checking out what the property had to offer. Overall, a great location, but pricey and an underwhelming experience. I would stay at the other luxury hotel only a few steps away from this one next time we’re visiting. Maybe you’ll have a better experience.
