I have visited this pool centre for three years and have zero respect for Sharlene and her management. Communication was poor and a lot to be desired. Avoid this place as best you can!

To be honest, we’re going there because we haven’t found a better option closer to home. Six children take lesson in a very narrow lane, and I’m not sure how much actual swimming time they get in total. If they don’t keep an eye on each other, they end up bumping into one another. Multiple different types of lessons take place at the same time in separate narrow lanes in that small pool, which usually creates a noisy and chaotic environment. I don’t think the 30 min lesson time is being used effectively because of these reasons. The teachers can change randomly. And not everyone is particularly friendly at the reception.

I’ve really enjoyed my swimming lessons with Pavel. He is patient and takes the time to understand your individual needs, which makes such a big difference. His calm and encouraging teaching style has helped me gain confidence in the water, and I’ve seen significant improvement since starting.

I am very happy with the class which helped to improve my techniques. I took an adult swimming class here with the objective to improve my strokes and speed as I already swim regularly long distance. I was wondering if a mixed-level adult class would meet my objective and they offered a free trial class which was helpful to make a decision. Coach Pavel is very easy to work with and passionate about his job. I think Poolside is a very good option because it is not easy to find a good intermediate swimming class. I also like the ticket system which means I don’t lose a class if I cannot attend a session for various reasons. All staff are super nice. The water temperature is relatively warm btw.

Our son started swimming lessons at Poolside Manor just over a year ago. He was 3 and a half and had only been in a swimming pool on holiday, splashing around the baby pool or holding us tight in the big pool. When he started I wasn’t sure he would get in to the swimming pool without a parent with him, but the staff were so lovely to him, giving him the confidence to just walk off and he went straight into the pool without us, while we watched from the parents area. His swimming teacher is Francesca and she is absolutely amazing, we can’t thank her enough. She has pushed him (within his ability) and he can actually swim and is doing far better than I ever imagined one year on. Francesca is encouraging and patient and explains everything to the children in a way that makes his lesson engaging and fun. At the end of each term they have a fun swim session with pool toys and floats which he absolutely loves. The whole team, especially Vicky are wonderful and so lovely to the children. We couldn’t be happier with our son’s progress and that’s mainly down to Francesca. Even the reception team are great, Sharon is wonderful and so accommodating when we had to change swim days. They are all so helpful and the clean changing rooms and spacious car park also help to make for a lovely swim session experience. Thank you Poolside Manor, it’s an amazing swim school and has enabled our son to accomplish an excellent life skill.

Disappointing and a half. I signed up for the adult swim group. I found it wasn't what I was looking for in terms of dynamic structured swim coaching to help me help me learn to breath properly and improve while swimming front crawl. It felt like a casual paddle in the pool with periodic reassurance that swallowing lots of water while swimming is usual. Half of the pool is so shallow I was on my knees, which I personally didn't find to be comfortable having a knee issue, though I understand this might be for some others. I decided to stop as I didn't feel I was getting what I wanted personally and it isn't a comfortable pool, and requested a refund. I was further disappointed by the woman I spoke with, who I found to be accusatory in tone, unreceptive, and defensive. A little customer-centred customer service and kindness goes a long way. I would not recommend this if you want clear structure swim coaching specifically. The lessons are entirely non-refundable once paid for in full. I have since found elsewhere to go for swim coaching.

Nice pool to learn swimming but the teachers are a bit uninterested. Car park option is perfect.

Our sons ages 3 and 9, absolutely love poolside manor. Our youngest has some anxiety about the pool and Vicki has been incredible in reducing this. His lessons are fun, personalised and completely suit what he needs. Since learning with Vicki his confidence has grown massively to the point where he was going down all the water slides on holiday this summer with total glee. Vicki is such a competent skilled creative and warm lady who goes above and beyond. Our older son who is now 9 also began as a nervous swimmer. Today he is a skilled confident swimmer who loves the pool, due to Vicki and her team’s care and support! I am a Child Psychologist and I know I am not always easy to please when it comes to my kids, however with Vicki I completely trust her and know she can 100% support the children, help them make progress and achieve to their full potential. Poolside camp is also great fun for the boys. They love the climbing wall, bouncy castle, pool and different activities on offer especially the tuc shop! But also the relationships they have with the staff who are so caring and kind and help them feel comfortable and happy. Thank you Vicki to you and the team for everything. 5*** all round experience!

I was a beginner and took 10 adult swimming sessions to learn swimming. Harry and Lewis were really helpful and their teaching methods are extremely good. Even if there were 3 or 4 (or more) students they’ll patiently watch everyone swim, correct your mistakes and also give you suggestions which helped me a lot. Overall a really good experience and will suggest to anyone who wants to learn swimming. The other staffs are also friendly, quick to respond and help you in case if you have any queries.
