   It would be great if the staff did the proper checks when it comes to the sauna and steam rooms… every time there are always people without wristbands. Today I had to leave before the end of the slot I booked because I suffer from chronic pain and can’t sit all cramped and squeezed in… at one point there were ELEVEN people and only four of us had a wristband… what’s even the point of setting rules and taking the time to book a slot? Also, good luck to anyone with social anxiety or other neurodivergences. Months ago I sent an email complaining about it, then weeks ago I actually went and called a member of staff… every time they seem to pay more attention for a while, but unfortunately it clearly doesn’t last long. And from January the membership price will go up again, what a joy!

   Absolutely no point in being a member as when you go to book for a class in advance and you go on the website as soon as booking becomes available, the website cannot cope with demand. I spend 10 to 15 every evening to try and book classes and by the time I get to the page all the places have gone. Complete waste of time and I have cancelled my membership

   I'm so frustrated with this gym. The ladies' changing room is constantly disgusting. I'm talking floors covered in hair and tissues, showers full of rubbish and hair clumps everywhere. On top of that, the facilities are falling apart (one hairdryer didn't work, the other was broken). But the worst part? When I complained about the terrible hygiene, the reception staff got angry at me! They need to hire more cleaners and teach their staff how to talk to people.

   Love the pool, nice and warm water, clean saunas and lovely reception staff! Free parking outside, coming in the evening after 8 never had any issues finding a spot, register your number plate at the reception upon arrival!

   I booked a swimming session for my 10-year-old daughter today from 11:15 to 12:15. I also have a membership card, but I was told I needed to pay an additional £7 to accompany her in the pool. This rule was not mentioned at the time of booking, which was disappointing. The pool is clean and suitable for children, but I hope Better Southgate Leisure Centre can communicate their policies more clearly in the future.

   Genuinely one of the dirtiest leisure centres I have ever visited. The showers actually have flies they are that filthy! Avoid unless absolutely necessary.

   Fast lane afternoon slots tend to attract a cliquey much older bullying crowd. I spoke to the lifeguard but felt I was being blamed for a guy who kept purposely swimming towards me and very close that he almost hit me- do they know how dangerous that is? The lifeguard briefly intervened before leaving him to continue as before and allowing other swimmers who he clearly knew to start ganging up on me. There’s little space in the other lanes compared to fast lane, and have every right to swim where there's space that is safe for women where others share. Reception said they'd try and improve as they’ve had a few other incidents. I cancelled my membership because the centre tolerate this passive aggressive behaviour from mainly older people and also for a few other reasons. Been coming here for many years but not worth paying the fee while waiting to see if things change.

   Came to swim with our toddler but unfortunately, never again. We’ve been coming here for years, used to be members too but not anymore. The place hasn’t improved at all over the years. You should be able to come for a swim and get changed without freezing! My toddler was shivering when we got her into the changing rooms. Doors don’t lock in the cubicles, its really dark which makes life harder and its absolutely freezing. Yes covid has impacted everyone and cost of living is rising but I’m sorry, if you’re going to provide a service then it needs to be done properly. A real shame Only plus side is the poolside was warm.
