Iβve really enjoyed taking Tai Chi with Michael, who has been covering Tai Chi classes at Dulwich Leisure Centre this month. He begins each session with calming Qigong exercises before guiding us through the meditative 24 Short Form (Yang style). Heβs also introduced us to the 8 Form and other styles, all delivered with clear instruction and the confidence of someone qualified to teach at multiple levels. Michael has a calm, personable manner that makes the class welcoming for beginners while still engaging for those with more experience. It would be fantastic to see a similar offering at Peckham Leisure Centre. In these increasingly stressful times, it would be wonderful for Peckham locals to have access to the bit of zen and well-being that Michael brings to every session. Highly recommended.

Great staff, very accommodating and friendly. Hydropool and main pool could be a bit hotter at times but some people like it cooler so you can't please everyone. Shannon is absolutely brilliant and is on top of everything, the hydropool is always hot when she is around which helps with my back problems, when she is on shift, she is on top of everything and you can count on things to be tip top shape. Never a dull moment.

Since I started attending the gym, Kyle has been an absolute standout PT. Heβs professional, approachable, and genuinely attentive. Even when Iβve had questions or issues that went unanswered elsewhere, Kyle has been there to provide support, updates, and make sure I feel looked after. He has such a friendly and encouraging attitude that truly makes a difference, and itβs clear he genuinely cares about helping members feel confident and motivated. His deep knowledge of fitness really shows, he is practical and easy to follow. Always a pleasure to see him around the gym.

Watch out when you take a membership with this gym as they charge you one month up front + extra 'in case you want to cancel and still have access for another month'. I have never heard of such a subscription type before and when I questioned the payments I made the first staff member gave me a completely different explanation and the second member of staff to call me (James) was rude from the start. In total I paid Β£209.99 for 3 months that I wanted my membership and an additional month that I never asked for. Be careful when you sign up and also be advised that the standards are low. The room that is used for yoga classes is not adequately heated meaning it's literally freezing cold in the classes. I cancelled my membership and am warning others who consider joining.

The sauna and showers next to it are the moldiest thing I have seen. Visible mold in male changing room showers. This is a major health hazard. Mold is highly toxic. This cannot be simply cleaned with some chemicals (they just feed mold). The moldy materials need to be replaced, it needs renovation... Places like this need better awareness around toxic mold issue and it's impact on health.

The condition of the showers could be so much better: I used them in May for the last time, mould was everywhere, pipes leaking, and the disabled shower had no curtain, so the gentlemen using it had to do so in an indignifying way in front of other users. Most of the users respect the rules. Unfortunately, a minority with bad attitude or too much steroids act carelessly with the equipment, loudly dropping heavy weights on the floor, and showing no regard to other users trying to locate weights. Afternoons, especially the lower level gym looks like a battlefield with equipment all over the floor. Many pieces of gym equipment are also missing or stolen. At one point, I could see ca. 1 in 4 lockers in the male changing room had been vandalised. They cannot set up CCTV in the changing rooms, but I hope they install in the future panic buttons for all public and contract security staff, as they had before for the Castle Centre. The commitment to the customers safety and security is limited and staff are sincere about their ongoing security and physical integrity as a reason for not getting further involved into the prevention or investigation of incidents. Lately, I was verbally and physically attacked in the changing room. The staff were sympathetic but unwilling to co-operate with the police in the slightest way, i.e. the identification of the assailant. Given this experience and the overall impression, I avoid using this centre altogether.

The whole building was absolutely freezing. The pool, the corridors, the changing rooms, the reception was so cold, that staff were shivering, I felt terribly sorry for them. We only lasted a quarter of our time in the pool, trying to get changed was so awful, it was unbearable for me as an adult, but for my small child, it was horrendous. I have emailed the manager and I am waiting for a reply, but as with all complaints on the likely I will receive one.

Where to start? Hands down the dirtiest gym Iβve ever used. Very rarely any hand soap in any of the toilets (including during Covid) despite mentioning this every other day. Thieves operate in the gym, so donβt leave your items in the lockers because theyβll break into it. It smells, and the toilets are constantly blocked. Water fountain taps often break and donβt get repaired for weeks whilst they waste god knows how many thousands of litres of water. The staff seem completely incapable of understanding that a sauna requires maintenance, so if a small piece of wood splits, the sauna is closed for 2 months whilst they blame the members. There are toilet cubicals, showers and changing rooms with missing locks which havenβt been repaired for 4 months. How long does it take to replace a door bolt?!?! If youβre after a cheap gym, look no further, but you get what you pay for.
