    Avoid if you can Poor Experience with Duty Manager (Toni) I have been a regular customer since May 2024 and normally enjoy using the facilities. However, recently I have experienced consistently poor customer service, particularly from the Duty Manager, Toni. Her approach has been rude, unprofessional, and unnecessarily aggressive towards several customers. Unfortunately, she ruined what is usually an enjoyable Saturday afternoon for me, my son, my brother, and his child. Each Saturday, my brother and I take our children swimming. On this visit, Toni told my brother that because the booking was under his wife’s name, he could not enter despite this never being an issue on any previous visit. We were already running short on time, so I asked whether I could enter with the two children, both aged 11. She responded that I could take my son but not my nephew. As a result, my brother and his son were refused entry. Toni also accused my brother of being rude. This was not the case. He had been waiting in the queue for 5–7 minutes and politely mentioned that we were getting late. Toni replied, β€œYou should have come earlier,” in a rude tone. When my brother explained he had arrived before 2pm and that the process was taking a long time, she suddenly claimed he was β€œshouting” and refused entry. Her reaction felt disproportionate and unreasonable. This situation upset both children, and as a result, we were unable to swim that day. I also witnessed Toni speaking harshly to another customer who simply asked about pricing for a product or service. She told the customer to β€œBe quiet,” which I found unacceptable from a manager. The most concerning part of the incident was her false claim that my brother’s behaviour had scared a new staff member. When I calmly asked the staff member if she felt scared or shaken, she clearly said, β€œNo, it didn’t bother me,” and even smiled. Toni then interrupted and insisted the staff member *was* bothered, directly contradicting what the employee had just said. This was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. When I attempted to discuss the issue further, Toni asked me to step outside where she was smoking, despite clear signage stating that smoking is prohibited in that area. I have all the evidence to support what occurred. Overall, Toni’s behaviour came across as aggressive, confrontational, and not aligned with the standards expected from a Duty Manager. As a long-standing customer, I am extremely disappointed and hope management will review this matter seriously to ensure other customers do not experience similar treatment.

    Really friendly staff all around, from in the gym to the receptions to life guards. Facilities have always been clean and car park is usually full when I go, however there are always people coming in and out, I find usually on the hr is when spaces open up, at 11 at 12 at 1 etc.

    Top value for money gym in chadwell heath area nice relaxed atmosphere multi gym accessories available including treadmill, rowing machines, various weight lifting and leg weight lifting machines along with aerobics classes for all people. Swimming pool is excellent they also have astro turf football pitches at the rear of the centre which are floodlit too for all weathers.

    I walked in and walked out. They’ve got mixed changing facilities. I’ve never come across mixed changing rooms in any gyms/leisure centres/pools in my life, and as soon as I saw this was mixed, I walked out although I had already paid for my swimming sessions. It’s not even written on their website and you’d think it’s segregated as per usual. How do they think it’s okay to mix old men with little girls, or even simply males and females in a CHANGING facility. I’m baffled.

    Visited for the first time as my current swimming centre closed for maintenance. Everything is fine, the building is new, the changing rooms are very spacious. However the water is not very clean. People don't wear caps and so there can be hair in the water. My recommendation to the staff is to make customers wear hats as it's not hygienic to have hair floating in the pool and get tangled in your fingers while you're swimming. Also, the showers aren't great and the water is way too hot, there is no regulator.

    It's feels like a secure and newish leisure centre with good customer service. However, the male changing rooms in the sports halls were locked...and male toilets stunk and we're freezing. They needed a good clean and regular checks. This let it down otherwise would have give 5⭐

    My children have been attending the Mayfield Leisure Centre swimming sessions since before Covid. Generally the reception team are helpful and pleasant both in person and over the phone. It is clean and well maintained with the exception of a 'blocked gutter' smell that has recently started emanating from the toilets. Unfortunately I can only give 2 stars as the manager Toni is unprofessional, rude, aggressive, patronising and generally very difficult. I find it hard to believe that she has had any management training and from reading previous reviews I can see that I'm not the 1st person to have been at the receiving end of one of her tantrums. I say tantrum because that is exactly how she responds to any criticism: shouting, storming off, threatening to have children removed. She will also never accept any fault. Such a shame as the swimming instructors are fantastic.

    Appalling place. My daughter and I swam in the deep end for 30 minutes without issues to then be accosted by a "lifeguard" suddenly concerned whether my child can swim the length of the pool. I can see this has happened at this centre before reading the reviews. To add to insult you can't get a refund without sending an email!!!! My children have both been swimming students at this centre for several grades and this experience just highlighted what's really going on here. A farce. Poor staffing. Definitely would NOT recommend. Go elsewhere.

    Clean. Very clean. Friendly staff.. peak price for swimming adults Β£4.50 and kids Β£2.50.. offf peak is Β£3.50.. pool maximum 1.5m deep and minimum 0.9m shallow end.
