£12.60 for a day pass off peak. That's too much for what it offers, very small weights area and max weight is 40kg. No bench press and busy even at 1pm had to wait for machines. Equipment old and tired.
Brilliant gym that isn't like a standard council gym at all. Everything is clean and new, amazing range of modern classes with great instructors, pool has swim and steam rooms, the staff are always visible on desk and are helpful. I'm almost regretting posting this because I don't want it to become inundated! This is a great gym and I highly recommend it.
How is it fair for the management allowing these big lockers to be permanently locked and used by selfish people? Do they pay more on thier membership to have such preveliges? For time to time there were notices placed asking people not to leave thier belongings locked overnight and items would be removed otherwise. But these steps are never actioned constantly. As a disabled person who would benfit having access to one of these big lockers would have been much useful and I have given up on giving feedbacks and asking the staff there who could do something about this issue.
I've been using this swimming pool for a bit longer than a year and something has dramatically changed at the end of the last summer. It used to be pretty decent, clean and warm public pool. Perfect for people who come to relax and stretch out, but decent enough for those who are more energetic swimmers. Only 3 shower cubicles and lack of lockers were always the issue. Unfortunately, it has changed for the worse. It's constantly cold, sometimes very cold and really unclean, from top to bottom. Reception is not as welcoming as they used to be. On a positive note, lifeguards are still lovely. They are topping up for a star.
Changing room in the swimming area cold. Wouldn’t recommend steam room/sauna to a woman, complaints have been made but nothing has changed. Some people are rude and disrespectful but still allowed there. Regarding the cleanliness, the video speaks for itself.
The gym is ok but while I was doing my workout someone clipped the padlock on my locker and stole my wallet and work mobile phone. This is despite there being membership card with electronic gate access. Beware as your property is not safe, even in a padlocked locker.
Good-sized (25m), clean pool. A delight on weekdays. On weekends, they implement an annoying system where you can't scan in and instead you need to queue to get a sauna wristband before going to the pool, even if you have no intention of using the sauna. I never use the sauna and this system bugs me. Sometimes you need to queue for close to 10 mins.
Its a nice place but the sauna is always full. On evenings and weekends there is even a line of people waiting to get in. And its not designed properly so only a few seats actually get hot enough, there is cold hair entering from under the door, plus every 5 min someone opens it and lets the cold air in again. Maybe if everyone complains they will start opening it longer hours. Its only open a few hours a day. Otherwise the pools is great and machines are fine. Just wish they had wash cloths around the gym for self cleaning after using a machine or mat. Also very annoying that you need to bring your own lock.
Well maintained clean environment. Staff very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool water temperature fluctuating on the low side. Steam and sauna in good clean condition.
Modern and clean, warm mixed changing and shower facilities, plenty of hairdryers. £1 lockers for the swimming pool, padlocks for the gym. The pool was very crowded after work, especially with such narrow lanes. Need to check sauna and steam room working times. Will come back at a less busy time.
