Edited to reduce from my original 5 stars as now there is different staff all the time and my son doesn’t appear to be learning anything. The teachers get impatient with him not crossing the pool quick enough and drag him along on his noodle instead of letting him develop.
I had a funny turn during a Pilates class and felt extremely lightheaded and faint when I went to get some water. A group of young men at the gym quickly came to my aid, and the first aid team were fantastic—giving me water, helping me into the recovery position, checking my blood pressure, and making sure I was okay. I’m especially grateful to Gracie, who stayed with me until my daughter arrived, and to Nicky and all the ladies who supported me throughout. A big thank you also to the young man who kindly offered me his bottled water. I truly can’t thank the New Addington Better Gym team enough for their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for their members. You are all the best!
After a complete shambles with the app and online customer services centre, over 10 emails and 3 phone calls. Nicky at the front desk went above and beyond to sort out the issues. We managed to set up a new account for a child to be booked into swimming lessons and get me back into the appnin under 10 minutes. Gold standard in customer service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As a new member have had a wonderful experience. I'd like to thank Julie on reception especially for her warm welcome, her patient explanations and her enquires as to how the classes have gone. The centre is lucky to have her on their staff
Nice leisure centre, Spinning Class is great but if comes to the gym there is so much to say. The gym is quite dirty, equipments left wherever and it seems like the staff don’t care about it. I saw so many times members of staff at the gym floor and no one picked up the equipments and put them away. Yeah it might be a members’ stuff to do but not everyone does it and it should be enforced by the gym staff. Paying £40 just for the gym is wasting money, so make sure all facilities are used by you if you’re a member.
Nice but gym is very small. Considering how big the building is, a bigger gym will be great. Also, because the gym is small, they don’t have a lot of gym equipment so you find yourself not being able to workout the way you want because other people are using it/there’s a wait. I’ll suggest making the gym space much bigger and getting more gym equipment please. Thanks

Gym space is a bit small considering the size of the building. It can feel / get packed quick in there. Can't use any of the studio rooms when not in use to practice free weights more privately Feel they need to increase the size of the gym as its all packed into one, when it is a massive building! Never see staff in the gym to help Also the opening times aren't the best, especially compared to other gyms. Shuts at 6pm on Sundays? Etc.. really should consider extending hours or even 24/7 like puregyms
Pictures are of the new leisure centre, which is due to open (jan/Feb 2020) My review is of the current leisure centre which is the building next door. It is very old and a bit run down, but I'm gonna miss this place so much once it's torn down, it's been the heart of the community for so long :( The staff are friendly, the main pool is a proper full size pool which is great for doing lengths and the second pool is suitable for small children. Aqua/Zumba - water aerobics is absolutely great and surprisingly hard work (provide you put the effort in) the teacher is absolutely brilliant and makes the work out fun. The gym is small yet perfectly formed, however there is enough equipment to do a full bodywork.
