The standards of teaching at Chingford Swim School are very poor. Classes are constantly mixed, lessons feel wasted, and teachers spend more time talking to each other or on their phones than actually teaching. Changing rooms are sometimes smelly, and staff offer no support when concerns are raised. This needs serious attention.
Been attending my children in the swimming lessons here for a few months now and I have to come on here and express my frustration in the poor effort from the swimming teachers. They simply do not have a care in the world for what they are doing. We have attended this week to what was told was a swim safety week but my child was just shown pictures of flags at the beach should this not have been done in the summer time? Also the 2 female teachers from the small pool where just roaming around using their mobile phones around the children which I believe and see as a safeguarding issue. If this does not improve I will be removing my child from lessons.
Kids swimming lessons here are rubbish. Some lessons the kids don't even get in the pool, they sit them on the side in their swimming costumes and show them bits of paper. Complete waste of time and money. Don't the management realise parents have to rush home from work to get to these lessons, what is the point if they don't even get to see them swim. Surely all this safety stuff could just be done on a video they could watch at home?
I've been using this gym and pool for a few months now, and it’s been a great experience. The gym is clean, well-equipped, and never too crowded. The swimming pool is well-maintained, with clear lane markings and good water temperature. Staff are friendly, and the locker rooms are always tidy. Even the weekends are great for me to take my daughter. Overall, highly recommended for anyone looking to stay fit!
Money thrown down the drain. The pool is a complete disaster. You'll be swimming with 30 people shoulder to shoulder, with no space or room. And half the pool is for 3 people because of the pseudo-shitty lessons. So you pay for half the pool, it's a tight squeeze. 30 people packed in like a can of sardines, and the other half is for 3 people because the big teacher is running some nonsense. I asked the lifeguard if this was normal. He said the managers don't listen to them. I don't recommend this place. Buy a pool for your backyard and it'll be better.
We use the pools. These are well maintained and the changing area is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are clean toilets and showers, both poolside and in cubicles. Plenty of parking. Only downside is no proper cafeteria, just a couple of machines selling a limited range of refreshments.

Would be great if they had a sauna or steam room. Changing room floor often dirty, wet or hair everywhere. I do like the water Aerobics class though and the teacher is lovely.
We went to a birthday party (pool party) for 5 year olds, they allow you use of the smaller pool (v decent size though) and I have to say it was amazing, brilliant. The staff were outstanding, super friendly and even played with the kids which was a huge bonus in my opinion, well done.
We going swimming here, and the littleun has swimming lessons - good facilities, and the teacher is great. Big square pool for the younger kids to learn, and then a fair sized 25m pool for the adults, etc. Great car parking outside, and ok changing room - could do with a bit of a service though as a few things not working, hair dryers, etc - but overall worth the rating
