I went into the Southgate store yesterday to ask for help measuring my ring size and was ultimately made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Whilst the first staff member I spoke to kindly explained they don’t offer this particular service, which is totally understandable, but that I could try a few on to get an idea, another staff member intervened to question whether my boyfriend would be planning on buying a Swarovski engagement ring and if not, then I should go to a jewellers instead. I was the only person in there and I would have considered purchasing something; I’ve always shopped at Swarovski and they lost out on a sale because they assumed I only wanted a freebie service and turned me away. I never write reviews, but I felt I needed to say something because I’ve never been made to feel that way in a shop before.
