I moved here from West Yorkshire nearly 3 years ago and haven’t been able to find a decent chip shop until now. This chippy was recommended to me so I thought I’d give it ago. I ordered a fish butty & my husband had the orange chips and they were delicious, finally a chippy that knows how to cook a non greasy but crispy tasty fish. We also had a strawberry milkshake which at first I thought was expensive at £3.99 but it was so nice and made with ice cream. Now I understand why this chip shop has celebrated 50years….keep up the good work. From a Yorkshire lass that knows how a fish should be cooked.

Having heard so much about the famous orange chips in the Black Country, I had to give them a try, so I stopped by Majors Fish and Chips in Bilston. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was a bit of a queue, and quite a few people seated at tables, clearly enjoying their meals. The shop itself was tidy and spacious, and the staff were both polite and welcoming. I opted for the Monster Cod, which came in a nice crispy batter, cooked in beef dripping. The fillet was impressively large. The orange chips, which I had been curious about, are essentially regular chips coated in a light batter mixed with food colouring, giving them their distinctive bright orange hue. They were plump, crispy, and served in generous portions. It seems all the chips sold there are orange chips, so even the cheesy chips were made from these, and they were delicious. The pea fritters were also generously sized, coated in crispy batter. I particularly enjoyed the thick, flavourful curry sauce, to which I added a few spoonfuls of scraps for some extra crunch. I finished off the meal with a deep-fried battered Snickers, rounding out a satisfying experience. Sadly did not enjoy recent visit. I came last year and the food was terrific. This time it was sad. Asked for cod and chips but the fish was really fishy and not like cod at all. Either hake or not very fresh cod. Poor show and have no intention of returning.

Saturday night 1st February around 8pm purchased. The worst looking chips ever, looks like they have kept them put for ages prior to service. Definitely not fresh, more like the rubbish leftovers in one bag. Not impressed at all, dinner ruined. Should be better and think they took full advantage of the customer. Would expect a refund. They usually good. May just use the chippy on the other side of town in future if this type of service continues.

We had lovely fish and chips here. Also tried the SFC, which was great too. The fish was cod, cooked to perfection. The portion was generous, we couldn’t finish it. Really nice and clean. Will definitely be returning.

Been to Majors multiple times throughout the years, introduced my fiance to Majors and she was amazed at the portion size, price and food quality, as I now live in Bournemouth, my partner is from there so she has never really tasted much food north of Bournemouth. It is safe to say she loved her chips. The food was better than I remember. Can't wait for our next visit! The mixed kebab was the best kebab I have ever eaten. And also just the right amount of sauce too.

Home of the famous (and best) orange chips. Drove my wife 125 miles from Hull just to try them!

Wednesfield branch. Never again avoid like the plague! Ordered fish and chips which all stuck together and enough grease to make a cuppa of tea. The presentation was not fit for human consumption and the worst ive ever had in the whole of the uk. An Insult to British food!. It was a very Slow service even the just eat driver said he had been waiting for 25 mins to pick up an order. Miserable atmosphere when you are there waiting for 30 mins just to get a fish and chips. Donner kebab was not ready for service that was at 5.45pm! The girl with the tattoo shouted at another staff this should of been put on before they opened. So we got the chicken kebab we didn't even bother touching you can see yourselves from.the picture attached-a insult to turkish food and to turkey as a country!.Dry and disgusting, vile and not even fit to feed a dog!.. I wouldn't go back to this place ever even if it was the last fish and chip shop in the world!.

Crispy on the outside and flaky soft on the inside is what I would describe these amazing battered fish. The chips are also amazing. I don't know why they are selling this for such a low price!
