Excellent meal there yesterday. Avocado salad especially good, best I’ve ever had. All our courses were not only good but beautifully presented. All staff so friendly, welcoming and polite. Lovely warm fire and all tables clean, very tidy and attractive environment. Manager Naomi very pleasant and helpful.

We stopped by for lunch on a very quiet Monday. My husband and I both ordered the Avocado & Mixed Grain Salad. I asked for an add on of the Peri Peri Chicken Skewer and my husband had the Halloumi Skewer. Both salads were fantastic. Unfortunately my chicken skewer was so dry it was inedible. I asked for another halloumi skewer as my husbands was quite tasty. But our server brought me another chicken. Sloppy service considering we were the only people ordering in the whole pub. Overall it’s a nice cosy place. Would recommend going here. We feel the kitchen wasn’t being too considerate during our visit on this particular day.

Been here 4 or 5 times now in the last 9 months at different times of day and for different occasions, bringing friends who haven't been before. It's better than any ember inn we've ever been to. The food is top standard, the pub and toilets are always clean and tidy and the staff are so welcoming. We came again this evening and food was bang on. We had 3 courses each and couldn't fault any of it. Definitely recommend.

First time been in since 1982 when it was a pub. Thought would sample a steak, looked lovely but not evenly cooked most was rare or less in thicker areas with myogoblin pouring out. Much prefer its sister M&B chain Sizzling pubs or M&B Stonehouse. The ales are well kept and served, will come in for them.

We come to this amazing pub quite often today was steak night 2 8oz rump steaks for Β£18.90 and it was really tasty and I love the Mac and cheese side dish. Naomi and the team are very friendly and attentive. Relaxed atmosphere and good quality food.

Nice pub that is very clean. Nice ample parking and good service from the staff. I only had a starter and dessert but the dessert was terrible. Feels like it was warmed up in the microwave as it was so hot in some places. I probably won't ever eat here again but the London pride was very nice. Will come back for ales but not the food. Deserves its 4 stars but never a 5.

We have used this pub as a local most weekends with no issue, for the best part of a year and even get on with the staff. Food isn't great, but we have enjoyed the atmosphere. One evening the owner or manager decided to throw around his weight, and make complaints regarding some adult language although none of the other pub goers were concerned. He decided that he had a problem with it and threatened to remove us from the premises, although this is exactly what you would expect from an evening in a pub with adults drinking. We have decided to take our custom elsewhere rather than feel unwelcome and thank this man for this.

When entering the Dog and Gun you could see that it was a fairly quiet local pub with few customers in.Β The Pub overall had a nice atmosphere and a very cosy vibe. It had a lovely country feel to it with an open fireplace. We had to order ourselves at the bar and put the cutlery out which was disappointing given that we would have expected table service in similar venues of the same chain. The lighting was also good inside. There was a little bit of a draft coming in from the entrance due to the proximity of the table near it but it was relatively comfortable. Food and drinks were delivered quickly after we ordered. The mains we ordered were lackluster in terms of our expectations. The Classic Chicken Burger topped with BBQ pulled pork came out cold. After raising this with a member of staff she said she would 'check this for me' as though I was lying about the temperature of my meal.Β After disappearing into the kitchen for 5 minutes she then reappeared to agree that the dinner was in fact cold. She then proceeded to ask if I would like the meal reheated or a fresh one cooked! I believe that no restaurant should EVER ask if you would like something reheated and should always be cooked fresh. The Belgian Chocolate Brownie Dessert left a lot to be desired as it was too thick and didn't actually taste all that chocolatey. It was also quite rich and very gooey. The Caramel Apple Crumble Pie was satisfactory. The custard had some congealed skin on the surface which left a inconsistency with the overall dish. The filling and the pastry itself was tasteful and filling. Using the facilities we did notice that there was a door in the women's toilet held open by beer mats which was inventive as it was situated close to the driers. The service in the pub was friendly but had started to get slower towards the end of the night which given the level of trade in the pub was not a good sign. One of the cubicles did not lock and the other had danger tape on it. Overall, we would be hesitant to return as we found it to be average overall. A 5/10.
