We were so pleased to hear that the Fieldhouse was under new ownership, so we had to see for ourselves. We popped in on 27th November and enjoyed an early afternoon meal of a homemade lamb and mint pie and southern fried chicken strips. Both meals were amazing and we were very impressed with the service. We’ll definitely be visiting on a more regular basis.

Great to have the pub back how it should be. Under new management since October 2025 and they've already got it back on track. Great pub food, good beers and friendly staff. They've also decorated, tidied up and put the layout back to how it worked best before. Great work everyone.

We came to try the new menu under new ownership. After talking to one of the staff a few weeks ago we were told everything was cooked fresh. There is a "english" menu & an "indian" menu as it was put to us. We chose off the "indian" menu. Id pass on the popadums - they're premade. The chicken and fish pakoras were ok and sadly the naan was cold. A side of masala chips for £6.50 is quite steep. There are other places close by that serve the same food at a cheaper price. It's a new venture so I'll give it a while then try again as we were told they are planning on getting a sky sports license and making other changes.

A lovely and chill pub garden on a sunny evening. Worth a visit if you are already in the area, not sure I would drive far to go again, but wouldn't say no if I found myself near it again

2nd visit here after a few years and the pub is still great. The homemade pies are superb and highly recommended. Definitely recommend coming here for food and nice drinks with great atmosphere. The desserts were also excellent. Wonderful pub, great location and scenery, has a large outdoor seating area and this is great for those lovely summer days. Food was great here, we tried the homemade chicken pie and lamb steaks and it was beautiful. Definitely recommend coming here especially for the beer garden, great food and great atmosphere.

Great food and service just feel it could be a bit better organised at the bar.

Shame !! Was looking forward to visiting this place after reading the good reviews. So Friday night thought I'd pop in for a couple of drinks and a evening meal with the wife round about 8 o'clock. The place was not that busy, there were places to sit ,I got served, asked for the menu, was told they didn't do food ,my mouth must dropped open ,as I was only reading a few minutes ago about how good the food was. Walked into another room in the place there were people eating. I ask what time the food finishes was told 7.30pm, strange time to finish the food when you fancy dinner at 8.00pm

Very tasty, well prepared, home cooked food, with a decent presentation and excellent taste And that in the lower pub price range. It was a bit of a surprise find really. The car park was almost empty, to the point where we thought, can it be that bad? Came inside and were welcomed by friendly staff. What I would say is, they are hiding it well, but once you order the food, then the world is all in order.
