We recently visited from Ruiton Church with a group of 22 people for a festive Christmas dinner, and the experience was outstanding. The staff were absolutely fantasticβ€”really friendly, well-organised, and incredibly prompt, especially considering the size of our group. All queries were dealt with quickly and they couldn't do enough to make the night run smoothly. Every meal was served efficiently and arrived hot, beautifully presented, and delicious. The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well looked after throughout the evening. It made our Christmas celebration truly special, and we’re very grateful for the excellent service. Highly recommended for group bookings and festive occasions.

Don't know whether because it was packed out, the starters were warm not hot, the soup tasted ok but only warm, the same with mushroom stroganoff. The mains was good, which consisted of salmon wellington, a turkey Christmas dinner, pork belly and the only down fall was the 8oz steak which was overcooked, a bit dry. All in all average. Heard good reviews beforehand, bit disappointing.

Not been for many years. Purchased the three course for around Β£19. Often the meal deals are simply smaller portions but the pate starter was very large. Had Pork for main and it fell apart as it was so tender. Had an after eight type dessert. Was fine just not my cup of tea. Service was very good. The place was fairly busy and the meals coming out seemed equally large across the board. Will definitely go again

Came here for lunch, the staff were very friendly and the service was good. The Guinness tasted off told the bar staff who poured another and said it was the first pint of the day and the 2nd pint was fine. So quickly rectified the situation. The pint of envile ale was superb as usual. The food was ok a slight let down which is why I have given this place 4 stars. The starter wasn't great no flavour to it at all. The cod Wellington was unique and tasted nice enough. Overall I would come back here.

A nice evening, with ok food, few things that warrant minus 2 star, we booked a table and were sat in the bar area (not an issue) but the fact the table was dirty when we sat down was. It very obviously hadn't been wiped and menus had been placed there ready for us on top of the glass marks and food from the previous customers. The biriyani was lovely but the lamb was a bit ... Meh. the dish would have been better without it (and I love lamb). We weren't table checked until we had finished our meals when they came to clear our plates. Desserts, the crumble seemed microwaved and was soggy, not crumbly. The lemon meringue Sunday tasted like washing up liquid, definitely not worth Β£5.95. Worst dessert weve had for a while!

Had the special three course meal for Β£14.95 very good value and service. Original post from a while back, so price may differ and various menu options. Always a special board to and a good choice of drinks.

This is one place that always amazes me. I have had a range of dishes, from a roast to a Japanese noodle dish and it has been 5* every time, highly recommended, whether vegan, veggie or a meat eater.

This is a place we usually come for special occasions. I do like the feel, of this place. It has a really country pub feel to it. I always have the lamb shank. I promise you, you won't find a better lamb shank. The steaks however, are very hit and miss. Mainly for us a miss, there always tough or chewey. Other wise I'd of rated this place a 5 star. I recommend the chocolate fudge cake, really nice warmed.
