   So I've been waiting to go to this quaint little restaurant for about 7 years but never had the opportunity until now. I read the reviews including the one stars and have to give it 5! And if you don't understand that, please give them another go! The welcome was nice from the off and no pressure to order, plenty of time given, but friendly staff, and when I asked for Olives not on the menu I was given some no problem. Now the food! What success! Such authentic well cooked and fully loaded flavoursome pizza! You could have been at a family restaurant in Italy. I was so happy to have something very good. Not overpriced and not thick base just perfect pizza. Happily go back again and again if it's this good and have now booked again! Quaint decoration and atmosphere. Highly recommend

   If you want to eat out in this part of Devon your choice is either pricey gastropub or (much rarer) slightly less pricey traditional pub fayre. Or this place, a small but freakishly good pizzeria transplanted from Naples. They were packed last Tuesday, mostly with Italians and with good reason, everything we had was excellent.

   What a find! You need to call or pop in to book a table but it’s well worth it. It’s a tiny restaurant that’s full of character with truly wonderful, friendly staff. The food is absolutely delicious and fairly priced. We had the lemon tiramisu for dessert - it was delicious!

   Update Sept 2019: We came back to Berto's this year after thoroughly enjoying the food last year. Everything is the same as the last review. Food absolutely delicious! Original Sept 2018: We found this amazing place on our first night. We walked in with no reservation and got a table eventhough they were very busy. Service was personal and friendly. Food arrived very quick! It smelled lovely and tasted phenomenal. Never had Italian food better than here! We loved it so much we booked there and then for a few days later. Second visit didn't disappoint either. Will definitely return when in the area again!
