I drive past several chip shops that are closer to me to come here, the food is great and you're always greated with a friendly smile.
It had been years since my last visit, but the place hasn’t lost its charm. The mini fish and chips with peas were just as tasty as I remembered.
Tried this place for the first time—had a large fish and chips with mushy peas. The chips were good, but the fish was drenched in grease. I ended up with a stomach ache all night and won’t be ordering from here again.
Not from this area but thought we give them a try Add 2 small fish meals with curry .well 10/10 excellent meal an best curry sauce add in long time . Will be back when in area

First had some chips when I collected & delivered the owner’s car for Vertu motors which were very good so payed them a visit after doing some shopping me and my partner had Cod, chips & mushy peas the takeaway meal was great the chips were soft on the inside and tasty, the mushy peas were hot and a thick consistency not runny like most places & the fish where WOW a large Cod with a light batter very tasty 10/10 from us.
Now we all know I'm a Weatherby Whaler fan and have exceptionally high standards, so I was amazed that it took me a good 40minutes to eat my food. The fish was crispy and pure white throughout, not greasy but just right. The chips were well cooked and fluffy in the middle, which shows a perfect cook. Mushy peas were delightful and I throughly enjoyed my meal, the people in the shop were polite and well spoken, enquiring where I was walking to etc so overall - yes I would return.
I have been trying chips and cheese all over the East Midlands and so far this one has been my favourite. The chips were fried to perfection with a crispy exterior encompassing a pleasantly textured fresh chip. It was topped with the perfect amount of cheese which was flavourful yet not overpowering and melted to the optimum level. The servers were also amicable and served us very efficiently. I would highly recommend this 'Chippie'
