Went for Xmas lunch with my work colleagues yesterday and all but one of our party of 6 have been ill after. Staff were friendly but service was so slow. It took almost an hour for our starter to come. For starters I ordered the chicken thigh with black pudding pearl barley and rich chestnut veloute, which I can only describe as tasteless slop. It was also quite cold. My colleague then ordered another drink which must have taken about 20 minutes. For my main I had slow roasted beef cheek which was quite nice, but again was cold. The portion size was ridiculous for the price. I literally had the smallest bit of potato under the beef with 3 baby carrots. Woke up through the night with tummy cramps and have been ill all day. My colleagues were exactly the same. Not good at all!

Attended with my work for Christmas lunch, arrived for our booking at 12.15 for 6 of us. Starter arrived out at 1.10 roughly and the wait for a drink was very long. Had to ask several times for it. Food was cold for both starter and main, starters looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for half of the morning. Great atmosphere if you’re in for only drinks, it’s quicker for you to leave the dining area and go to the bar to get a drink than wait on the servers. Obviously not managed very well, probably won’t be back.

Went here for Christmas dinner on Thursday 11th December 2025. Do not recommend and will not be back. I get it’s Christmas and service is stretched, however, service was slow to get drinks, we asked for water and eventually glasses were brought out with ice in them, one included a pound coin at the bottom it (under the ice), which shows you that they weren’t cleaned properly! Food was bland and potion size was massively disappointing. The daube of beef was dry and overcooked - like a well done steak , potatoes cold and carrots tasted raw. We all wanted to get the three course menu but were rudely told by staff that another group was booked for our table- we had waited on service food and drinks and not because we ate slow ! The bill came out and wasn’t split into two tables - one for food and one for drinks (told that was ok by the server at the start as we had some non drinkers), our deposit wasn’t off the bill, the menu was split and wasn’t put through as two course for Β£29 etc. by the fourth bill we finally paid ( Β£32 service charge added as over 6 people )and we left, disappointed and wanting dessert. We ended up going elsewhere for more drinks and food as most of us were still hungry from the tiny portions. Two of the younger female members of staff were very apologetic and helpful but the manager (older lady with blonde hair) and a younger server (curly hair) were rude and unapologetic when it was their fault we were running late ( we weren’t given a time we had the table to ). Sadly won’t be back

Great pre-theatre dinner menu and happy hour offer during the week! Really nice bar in the middle of the city. Great location.

Caoimhe was a fantastic server! We were very impressed. This is a beautiful establishment inside and outside. Our hotel was across the road and we wandered in to see this amazing wood pile against the wall on the right. It seems very posh and the menu looked good. We had a party of four and sat in the dining area. I ordered two starters as my meal, White wine and garlic mussels and prawn pil pil. Husband and my friend got the pie of the day which was a savory potato and steak. Other friend got a bowl of seafood chowder. Everything was very good. My only minor gripe is the mussels were a lot smaller than expected. It isn’t enough if you are super hungry, just a light snack to share. Even with the prawns I was still wanting more but they were still very good. Would definitely come back!

Went inside for a diner for 2, wasn't disappointed at all. Ordered 2x the sirloin steak (medium rare) and the caramel syrup fudge as desert. The sirloin steak came with fries and a peppers sauce. All was very tasteful and enjoyed this fully. The wine came in a dirty glass and asked the waiter to get a new one, without hesitation he took the old ones and gave a new one. The live music was a bit too loud to have a normal conversation with someone. It's a little bit over-priced in my opinion but the atmosphere was ok, and the food was good.

Warm, welcoming atmosphere. There was a space available for us when we arrived and we were seated quickly. The service was a little slow, but very friendly. Food was tasty, but the soup a little salty for my taste. Star marked down because I ordered a pint of soda and lime with no ice, and was brought a pint glass about 3/4 full, and was told that was where the ice would've been. That's pretty and tight, to my mind. Otherwise great! The love music was also the perfect level and very good

Loved our starter and main tonight. The squid and duck were wonderful. The ginger beer battered fish and chips could have been a little more ginger but good with good chips. Strange that when asked for Malt vinegar waiter offered only white vinegar? Never heard of that in my 69 years. He indicated that Malt vinegar was a strange choice. Maybe a Northern Ireland 'thing'. However service was normal. Somewhat attentive without being intrusive. A few more check backs would have been nice although we did have a wonderful time and may or may not have ordered more if asked. Smashed peas were awesome.

I really enjoyed the fish which came with tartar sauce. The fish was tender and delicate, just absolutely delicious. However, the spicy smashed peas on the side failed to impress me.

Booked our table a week before our visit. Adhering to track and trace.lively bar and restaurant with a real buzz. Food was delicious - pork belly cubes were succulent and so moreish and my fish was huge with crispy light batter. The staff were friendly and professional and had a bit of craic with the customers. I would recommend their French martini - well done to the very busy barmen.
