Always used to be a nice warm pool but took the little ones there and water was very cold, cholrine levels were high to the point it made your eyes sore abd horrible on the skin. To top it up rhe showers were so cold we couldnt shower afterwards. Very dissapointing overall
Visited the BOA learning pool with my family today and very disappointed that the slide had been closed off but were more horrified by the state of the pool itself, the floor was slimey and green in areas! It was absolutely disgusting and we will not be returning! Gross!
Tried to call no less than seven times to book the fun swim for two kids this afternoon, there were spaces available but no option to book online, and left two voicemails. (Once was my partner from his phone). Only to be told “it’s been fully booked since before 12” and “we have been answering the phones” when the time period of calls spans from 9.30am. I don’t know which phones were being answered but it clearly wasn’t the work ones. Poor show from the staff on duty.
Friendly staff, always happy to lend me 20p for the locker as I never carry cash with me. Nice pool, no frills but for a general pool to do some lengths in it does the job. Not too cold when your shoulders are under and you get used to the temp. I would prefer if they had some kind of music, or the radio playing possibly in the background on low. Maybe a health and safety thing? But if lifeguards can watch people in pools on holiday with the noise and music then I feel like BOA pool could add some generic live lounge music on low to give it less of an eerie and silent atmosphere of people coughing, breathing, splashing, etc. I normally go on a Sunday where the parking nearby is 80p I believe until 4pm. So, I would swim in the morning go for breakfast/lunch, have a wander around the shops, and then go home. Would recommend for sure! I do the welcome all swims which fluctuate in how busy it is, but it’s never been too busy to have enough space to do your own thing, and some days there may only ever be yourself and 2 or 3 other people.
The swimming pool is green and cold and as for the 50 year old male lifeguard that was on duty when I visited with my 3 young children he clearly doesn’t like to see kids having a good time. All he did from the moment I got in the pool was get on my case about what my kids were doing wrong and were not allowed to do. We were on a canal boat holiday and first time visiting Bradford On Avon. Very disappointed and unfortunately I will not be returning. Loved Bradford On Avon but the swimming pool and that one life guard was a big let down.
My girls just started swimming lessons here. Absolutely brilliant teacher and the girls love it. Back every Wednesday now
Nice local pool. A small pool all one depth that a 5 year old could stand up in and a larger pool for older children and adults. The swimming teachers I have had for my children are lovely. Unfortunately the process to put your child on the waiting list for lessons can be difficult and rather unclear. There is not a lot of information about approximate waiting times, how to put children on a waiting list for lessons and discussing needs of children. There seems to be a lot of irregularity between different people in the time length between putting children on waiting list and getting a place. Could be done a lot better. Edit 2022: there is a useful online portal which makes it easier now to move your child up stages in lessons.
Quite quiet on a weekend morning swim and nice to be abit deeper but the pool felt dirty with lots of 'bits' in the water
I want to take my 1.5yr old swimming and the only tickets they sell are for a family of 4. This is a discriminitive policy and does not treat customers fairly. Mother and baby have been forgotten in this pandemic and places for people is not really for people. This means to go swimming in the small pool at BOA is over double the cost to take swimming to Bath where there are more facilities. £6 in Bath and £13 in Boa, this is a gross misjudgement from places for people for enabling access to all people. If I could put no stars I woul.
Bradford pool is conveniently located adjacent to the train station in the middle of the town, whilst the facilities are basic (no slides or leisure pool stuff), the pool is a decent size and there is a children's pool which are clean and well maintained as are the changing facilities although I only saw the male changing facilities as I'm, y'know, a guy... My only real complaints are regarding temperature - tinge pool was cooler than I expected and the changing rooms were approaching frigid! The showers were nice and hot though :-)
