Gorgeous spa, absolutely lovely staff, from the lady at reception to our masseuses to the girl stacking towels, all were sweet and welcoming throughout! My fiance and I had the 60 minute Priory signature massage as part of a package, which was amazing and Liz and Nia were incredible! The outside pool was heated and so peaceful in a little secret garden, although the UK disappointed us with cold July weather so we didn't stay out long (the weather's fault though not the spa's!!). The indoor pool, sauna and steam rooms were so nice and relaxing, we had it mostly to ourselves which on a Friday was unexpected! Cannot recommend more, completely worth the money and so much fun :)

My Wife and I went on a Spa day to celebrate Valentines and had a Shea nourishing scrub and wrap. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the nature of the treatment was very relaxing and interesting. I particularly want to mention that Beth my therapist on the day did the best massage for me for as long as I can remember (I hope I remembered her name correctly..) Being a manual therapist, I can tell when I am being worked on by someone highly skilled and talented. Will come back again when we are around the area!

We paid £155 for a spa day which started at 12.30pm and included a 2 course lunch and one hour treatment. We arrived for lunch, which was nice enough (although the restaurant could do with a facelift). We were surprised to be charged £5.50 for a bottle of water. We then got changed into our robes and slippers and sat by the pool for a while before our treatments. The pool was fine, and is a saltwater pool which is a nice touch. Our treatments were the highlight of the day (massage with mini facial) although my friend was not offered the scalp or foot massage which you are meant to have while the face mask is setting in. We then fancied a drink so we asked the staff if we could go to the bar and get one, only to be told you are not allowed to go to the bar/restaurant in your robes. This is the first spa I’ve ever been to where this is a rule. We were then told we could sit on the outdoor seating and have a drink brought to us. A member of staff gave us a menu and then backtracked and told us that they weren’t actually allowed to serve drinks in this area, but that we could get dressed and either go to the terrace or restaurant. We decided against a drink as it seemed pointless having to get dressed to do so, and then put our robes back on after (especially when you are wet from the pool/sauna etc.). We felt like we couldn’t fully relax because of this and were dare I say a bit bored because the spa is quite small and apart from sit by the pool and go in the sauna, there isn’t much to do. There isn’t even a jacuzzi to relax in. There is an outdoor pool but we had a look at this and the water was quite dirty. Generally, the spa could do with an update, and the prices are very high for what you get. Overall a disappointing day, even more so as my friend had an 8 hour round trip to get there.

Firstly, the positive. All the staff were very friendly and helpful The two course lunch was tasty and so was the wine One of the best facials I have ever had and the products and therapist was fantastic. The area in which the treatments are conducted and the relaxation room after were of a high standard, clean, lovely decor Sadly the bad…. The reality of the spa area did not live up to the pictures. Tired and in urgent need of some TLC. Debris on the floor of the main pool, mosaic tiles milling from the steam room and warm tepid water from the drinking machine do not make for a pleasant experience. The (I can only presume jacuzzi?) area of the pool with water jets only had one working and that one was on its last legs. Shame as it could be a good little spa area I ventured outside to the swimming pool as it was a warm summers day. Again far from the pictures I had seen on the website. All the furniture was covered up as if for winter and the pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week with leaves and insects all floating in the water and at the bottom Again a real shame as the grounds are lovely and I would have thought that during summer each day the area would be prepped ready for guests - especially for those rare summer days in England it actually isn’t raining! All in all some lovely parts but also some disappointing elements which surprised me.

My massage was excellent. Therapist was great. The women’s locker rooms could use a refresh, as some of the lockers were not functioning. The staff was lovely, but they were very understaffed and there weren’t the usual amenities in the spa area that you would normally expect (water, tea, etc). A note: when booking, they fully charge you in advance of your appointment, which I find to be highly unusual (as this is not a normal practice in the US). It’s not a deposit, but a full charge. Just a note!

Verdict: Location great. Stunning villa. Food good. Pool small.. showers need some updating..cushions on loungers need new covers...looked *not* 5 star..The 'aromatic steam room' was aromatic, but not in a good way. The Occitaine body treatment was excellent, as was the therapist. The post treatment relaxation area lovely. The staff were all really helpful and professional. I think the best time to visit is probably in spring/summer when you can also enjoy the garden fully.

The spa day here was booked by my daughter for my birthday. My treatment was very well executed and felt very relaxed. The lunch was delicious although the portions were quite tiny. Unfortunately we had to share our hour in the pool with a small child with pool toys hardly befitting a quiet spa experience. When we questioned this we were told the pool can be booked by hotel guests for 2 hours a day and our hour was one of them so I think we should have been advised of this when we booked
