A proper gem of a pub. Just a stone’s throw from Wolverhampton train station, The Great Western feels like stepping back in time in the best possible way. Top-quality ales, great cobs, proper pork scratchings, and a lovely pint of mild. Classic Black Country pub atmosphere — well worth a visit before or after the train.

Proper real ale pub right by Wolverhampton station. Holdens 110th Anniversary weekend meant £3 pints and superb pork and stuffing baps too. Well worth planning a long connection if you're passing through!

Cracking GWR themed bar that we found in the off-chance from watching a Wolverhampton pub crawl video on YouTube. Located less than a four minute walk from the railway station (turn left at the exit, walk past the taxis, turn right then an immediate left onto a narrow road, and just beyond the bridge it's there in front of you). First time I've seen Brennan's Irish Stout on tap before, which imo is a smoother pint than Guinness. Good prices, plenty of choices of food and drinks, plus a large conservatory area to sit in as well as standard seating. A great place to decant yourself for the afternoon/evening, or both, I'd imagine.

Sampled a couple of pints of Golden Glow as I was passing through Wolverhampton. Excellent ale and so smooth. I'll definitely return to try some of the other choices.

Great little pub and very friendly, the landlady Sharon is welcoming and always has a smile on her face, the regulars always say hello and make you feel welcome. The do a fantastic cheese and onion cob! I live 5 miles away and still use this pub.

One of my favourite pubs, under the high level station, a short walk via the cobbles, this place is full of character, and stuffed full of railway artifacts. Numerous ales served, together with hot rolls. The real fires will keep you cosy during the short days of winter.

Best pub in Wolverhampton by far. Might be my favourite pub ever. The service is fantastic, the punters are friendly, the pints are delicious, food is good, the atmosphere is very chill and they have board games to play. I can't recommend this place enough
