Went here for the fire works and to say what a con is an understatement the takeout cups were smaller than proper glasses and prices were ridiculous but I suppose they have to recupe the money somehow
Visited today (20/9/25) as a party of 8 for our grandsons birthday. He chose the pub because he likes the children's play area. Both my wife and I ordered the Steak & Ale pie with mash and green veg. The meals took quite a while to arrive but that was no problem, we weren't in any particular hurry. When they finally arrived the pies were quite nice to be fair, but the mash and veg were just lukewarm - and that's being generous! The gravy was the consistency of tar. When we tried to pour from the gravy boat it struggled to emerge it was so thick! When I went to pay the bill I mentioned to the bar man that it might be an idea to have a word with the kitchen staff to ensure that food came out piping hot. He then informed me that he was the only person on duty - so he had had to produce all 8 meals AND look after the bar! Surely there should have been more staff on in order to run the place efficiently. On being told of our disappointment with our meals he made the pathetic gesture of reducing our overall bill by £5.00!! There are many excellent eating pubs in the Wombourne area... unfortunately this isn't one of them. Best avoided.
Party of 14 food okay apart my husband had gammon , just looked like a slice of bacon would have said something if we were on our own .....
We got thirsty during a walk along the nearby canal. Found this place on Maps. Was worth the short uphill walk. Very friendly place and surprisingly tasty pub grub. Had a selection of 5 tapas type dishes. They were all served up in a reasonable time, all together and all were nice n hot. The only downsides were the interior being a bit tired and worn and the grubby toilets.

Christmas day dinner a complete microwave disaster, 6 sat at the table with 6 plates picked at. No payment from me but a consolation for 2 meals from another member of our party...That really means we made £120 over payment for no Xmas dinner and going home hungry. The question is...who went home hungry...and who is greedy ?
Perfect Christmas Day lunch! Everything was hot and in a timely manner. Plenty of everything and really well cooked. Nikki and her team worked really hard to make sure everything was spot on, as always.
The mount is a pub on the main wombourne road. When you arrive there is plenty of parking available. There is a wheelchair entrance on the side of the pub. Inside there is an island bar one side is for casual drinkers and the other for food. On big occasions they will screen big football matches on the big screen located at the end near the fire grate. There is a good choice of craft beers at a reasonable price. They also have a reasonable wine selection plus the normal cider and lager picks. The food is really good with plenty of choice for everyone's taste. On selected days they have special deals like a steak night fish Friday or 2 for one. Overall it is a good pub in the heart of wombourne.
Great pub friendly atmosphere, good selection of draught beers, nice outdoor area nothing fancy just tables benches and brolly, nice separate play area for the kids, fenced, and put on various fund raising events for the local community
