We weren't too impressed when we first arrived as the barman was more interested in texting that making eye contact when he spoke to us. He spent a little longer finishing his text, then did put his phone down and continued asking us what we wanted, this time giving us his full attention. Another nicely done out Joules pub. Beer good, food good. The customer service just needs a little fine tuning.

I’ve been to the Crown Joules a fair few times for their Digbeth Dining Club nights & live music events - fabulous pub! However, one particular thing I want to share is when I organised a night out for my friend’s birthday earlier this year. Sadly, when we arrived, there had been an issue with the electricity & the power was out. The staff were incredible despite the lack of full power and somehow managed to keep the place running for a couple hours! Management were incredibly apologetic and compensated us generously for our troubles - absolutely awesome place! Totally recommend this pub for the food, drinks & atmosphere!

We were really looking forward to trying the Sunday roast here as we like Medicine bakery. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations or the price tag. Everything wasn’t cooked quite right; beef was advertised as served pink which it wasn’t, all the veg was undercooked, nothing was quite as hot as you’d expect, I don’t know where the chefs learned to make gravy but it was terrible; thin and flavourless. Waiting staff were really good and the beers and wine we had were great. Shame about the food.

After a long dog walk this was just what was needed! Had the Buffalo and Blue burger, absolutely amazing, dripping with Blue Cheese complemented with the Buffalo Chicken. Service was super fast too for a party of 4, also tried half pint dark Joules, nice a smooth. Beautiful pub, staff were awesome.

Visited on 18/01/2025 for a family gathering. My son and husband had pizza’s which were fresh and lovely. Bit ‘stingy’ on the toppings but they were nice. I had the steak sandwich which was very poor. It was £12 for the sandwich (just for the sandwich!) and I needed to pay and additional £4 for Aioli and chips. I asked for no Rocket and I literally received 5 pieces of steak slapped between two bits of bread. The sandwich was dry and the chips were okay but the dip was like water. £16 for my meal and I probably would have enjoyed a baguette from Greggs more. Also … the pricing is just too high for the quality you receive. I had a cappuccino and a coke and it cost over £8. There was no serving staff. We were just being served by the guy who was also covering the bar. You would think there would be more staff on Saturdays. Would have much preferred to have stayed at The Station down the road however they unfortunately had the main room booked out from 2pm. Much nicer pubs around for better quality and lower the cost.

Fantastic pub staff were really nice I have only been in here once but the staff and regular customers seem to have a great rapport. I had food while here Highly recommended. Will definitely be getting food and drink here again

Great pub with loads of space but still a few cosier corners, and a good selection of ales. Food was also very good, with a variety of pub staples both warm and cold, coming in fairly hefty portions! There's also a good amount of outside seating.

Beautiful beer, the food was spot on, the service was with a smile and great. Can't beat this pub for quality food, beer and atmosphere.

Absolutely glorious! Spent a wonderful sunny Saturday here, the staff are polite and attentive. The food is beautiful (had Crab & Avocado on Toast with Halloumi fries and homemade salsa) was amazing. Easily one of the best pubs in the area, highly recommend, lovely atmosphere and the locals clearly love it; always a good sign!
