   Little Elf Steak Pie - A proper comfort classic. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a traditional steak pie from Little Elf Kitchen and Cafe on Granby Street Ilkeston, and it didn’t disappoint. The pastry was golden, crisp on the top, and beautifully flaky without being dry or overworked. The real star, though, was the filling – generous chunks of tender beef, slow-cooked until meltingly soft, in a rich but not swimming in, savoury gravy that had real depth of flavour. It struck a perfect balance between seasoning and that comforting, homely feel. I had the pie with creamy mashed potatoes, buttery peas, and a touch of gravy on the side – a classic combo that elevated the experience. This pie was packed with filling which took the pie from excellent to outstanding. All in all, a hearty, satisfying dish that delivered on both taste and tradition. I’d happily have this meal again.

   AVOID. Pretty appalled with our experience. ordered breakfast and it was really late. I understand things can happen and orders get delayed. food arrived stone cold and the owner was really apologetic. We was then informed we'd get a refund direct, and NOT to do it through just eat as it'll take longer. Since then we've had no response and no refund, even after a few messages and phone calls. Unhonest and unprofessional. too late now to ask for a refund on just eat. won't be ordering again and will advise other locals to avoid it to.

   Ordered two breakfasts which took an hour to deliver and was very disappointed. Food was cold, toast was just bread with melted butter (one of which was the end piece) somehow my egg was missing its yolk, was missing the two teas we ordered, was given hash browns when order bubble n squeak and the sausages where just cooked…just. Highly let down and not worth not recommending.

   Beautiful little shop. Amazingly tasty food. Staff are incredibly friendly. Has a 5 for food hygiene. Often pop in for a cheeky breakfast. Delivery is an option from here too.
