Lunch today to celebrate our son's 19th birthday. We were glad we booked as Block was choc a bloc! The food was amazing. Everyone was happy with their meal. Generous portion size, so flavourful and really reasonably priced. The service was attentive and everyone was super friendly. Thank you so much!
Nice little place, was made to feel welcome even though I was dining alone. Was advised of the special of the day, but I chose the beef barbacoa, was very filling. Great value for money. Both ladies who were serving me were very helpful and friendly.
The staff were amazingly welcoming and friendly, seated us earlier than our reservation and got our order in quickly before a large table order got taken. The atmosphere and decor are nice, and you can see your food being prepared. Ordered pork gyozas which were mouthwatering with their orange lemon sauce! The mains turned out disappointing, as the pork ramen lacked depth and flavour and the beef barbacoa was slightly dry and could use some more spices. Our order got slightly mixed up but the staff kindly remedied it, I cannot recommend them enough :)
What a find! We stumbled across ‘Block’ whilst pottering with our two little dogs. We sat outside in a lovely quiet street. Service from these guys is amazing! So attentive. treats for the dogs and super friendly and welcoming. Then there’s the food! All fresh and full of flavour and a great menu with a few nice twists. As my partner put it “you could taste the love”. Will definitely come here again and a refreshing change from the usual pub food in the area.
We had heard really good things about this place from our friends and decided to go for lunch! Such a variety on the menu and they all sounded delicious! The staff were so so friendly and helpful, even though they were clearly very busy as the place was packed! It wasn’t loud at all though and we really enjoyed all our food and drinks! We would love to return again! :)
What a find. Happened upon this place today. The aromas were amazing as we opened the doors. The staff were brilliant we hadn’t booked and did all they could to fit us in and we are so glad they did. Everything on the menu sounded amazing, each plate delivered to every table looked delicious and our orders were so tasty. This place is faultless, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our kids loved it too. Only downside is we live too far for deliveries! We’ll be back.

Just had lunch at Block, friendly welcome, great menu and every mouthful was full of different flavours and textures.
While on holiday my self and my wife decide to go to Barnstaple while walking around the town we spotted the block which from the outside looks like and unassuming cafe. As it was nearing midday we checked out the menu and know instantly that this was some where we needed to try and we were not disappointed the food is fresh and and tasty and clear crafted by people that are passionate about food. For anyone that is a foodie a definite recommendation.
Excellent place we happened upon early in our holiday. We went twice (only because they're only open Wed-Sat), and could honestly say, this was the best food we had all week. Friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely atmosphere.
