I came by today to drop a bag of clothing off. There was an older lady at the back door talking to some other people who looked like they'd dropped some items off. So I approached her after them and asked if she worked there so I could be sure I was handing my bags to the right person. Her attitude and response was disgusting. She was so incredibly rude and hostile "hiya, do you work here?" "why, what do you want?" - she spoke to me and looked at me like I was crap on her shoe. I told her she was rude and I had intended on dropping a bag of donations off but I'll take them elsewhere.

Children's Society shop have good deals, fair, reasonable prices as should be at charity shops. We shop at Children's Society shops, Cancer shop Arnold, Oxfam Arnold ,Sally's in Arnold ( which is Salvation Army), Sue Ryder's , and the Light House; these shops have charity shop prices. ( But we cannot say this for the other charity shops in Arnold)

I've volunteered and had a trial for a couple of hours recently@The Children's Society and a 9am until midday first proper session. The other volunteers are really friendly and helpful and Nicola the Manager is lovely. They made me feel welcome and didn't seem to mind my frequent questions.

Shocking prices and a disgraceful charity shop. - Asked how much an item was as it had no price. - Cashier, who I assume was the manager, said let me 'research' it for you. - She then proceeded to take the brand new price from 'Google Shopping' and reduced this by £3 (item in question was worth way less than their price, considering it was used and absolutely battered). Since when is this an adequate pricing strategy? When I explained to the woman that the value of an item does not relate to the brand new price shown on Google, I was told this was company policy and that the item in question was 'corporate stock'. I was under the impression that the item was donated and received for FREE, in used condition. How is the average person supposed to afford the asking prices? I'm fairly confident your target market is not those that have a high disposable income. Primark clothes are priced higher than they sell for when new... Needless to say the shop was full of overpriced goods that have been in there for months on end, only to end up in landfill eventually no doubt. Also, you might want to throw away the fake Game of Thrones final season DVD set you are selling for £10 - it's clearly a fake (particularly when the season isn't even released yet and it says 2017 on the back! The final season was only aired this year - 2019). It's a wonder how this place manages to afford to pay the rent - surely the next charity shop forced into closure...
